All in all, the Pequot and Powhatan wars began a tradition of unhealthy European/Native American relations. Europeans first began selling or simply enslaving natives with the end of this war, and thus their large population dwindled once again.

The French and Indian War (a.k.a. the Seven Years' War) was a series of conflicts between Britain and France for control of North America. The end result of was a British victory in which the Treaty of Paris was signed; France was now required cede the eastern portion of New France to Britain, while also ceding Louisiana to Spain. The name partially obscures the fact that natives actually fought on both sides of the war, though they showed more favor to the French (who were, historically, much kinder and tolerant than Englishmen).

Please note that the official starting date of the war is 1756, but due to prior battles, the date has been extended.

The dwindling French presence in North America meant the disappearance of a strong ally in the fight against Britain, as well as the loss of a blockade for British colonization and expansion.
