She benefits from extra support during structured listening activities and sometimes needs gentle reminders to stay focused and attentive. With continued practice and motivation, her ability to listen carefully, process instructions and respond accurately will continue to improve.

Za-Chelee joined our class in the middle of May and has made remarkable progress in a short time. Initially, she was quite wary and preferred to observe her classmates during activities. However, as her confidence grew, she began to participate enthusiastically in our morning ring and movement sessions. Through these experiences, she has learned more about her body, its parts and their functions. Za-Chelee can now confidently identify and recognize almost all the body parts we have learned about in class. She demonstrates a clear understanding of directions and can easily orient herself within the space around her. She is able to distinguish between her left and right sides and crosses her midline with ease. It has been wonderful to observe her growing confidence in her physical skills and abilities, reflecting her positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Za-Chelee pleasantly surprised us with her ability to recite the days of the week, months of the year, colours, and shapes in both IsiZulu and English, building confidently on her prior knowledge in Afrikaans. She demonstrated excellent memory and recall, particularly in IsiZulu, and enjoyed participating in these activities with enthusiasm. Za-Chelee also showed great interest in learning basic sign language gestures and often tries to demonstrate them with her friends during morning ring activities. Her curiosity and eagerness to explore new languages and communication methods have contributed wonderfully to her overall language development.
