Along with global cultural diversities, there are more and more festivals held annually over the world and most people express concern and look forward to the coming of a special occasion, Christmas. Xmas occurs on December 25th to commemorate the day Jesus was given to birth. During these days, there are different activities preparing for the big day. Most houses are decorated with colorful lights; shops, stores, groceries, restaurants are always crowded to satify the need of customers. Everyone is busy with dressing gorgeously, choosing meaningful gifts, preparing for a delicious meal to enjoy a Xmas night with their beloved ones. For Christian followers, this day is so important that they often go to the church at night to pray. To sum up, Christmas day has brought great pleasure and happiness for all citizens in the world, making our boring life more exciting and meaningful.

On the last day of school, I always give out Christmas presents and cards to my teacher and my friends in class. We always have a party the last day of the term and we play games. When school is over we usually go down town and finish our Christmas shopping. Then we go home and have our dinner and we go to bed. The next day we go down town and we see all the Christmas lights and there is always carol singers on the street. We sometimes meet our friends and go for coffee. At around 6 pm we go home to get tea for our dad. When he comes home we open some presents that our friends have given us. At 9 we go to mass and when we go home we get our snacks for Santa ready. The next day is Christmas day. At 9 am we get up and we go downstairs to take the goodies Santa has left for us. At 12 we go to our granny and grandads house for few hours and then we go home. At 2 some of our relations come over and we get some more presents. At 7 we go for a walk around town and when we come back and we get ready for bed. We have a drink and we go to bed.

Holidays hold an important part in everyone's life and one of the most popular holidays around the world is Christmas day. According to ancient peoples, Xmas day is celebrated primarily on December 25th to commemorate the day Jesus was born. In some weeks before Xmas, people often decorate their house with lights, Christmas trees and much more, prepare the meals for this special day. Besides, children will hang their Christmas socks with the hope of receiving some lovely gifts from the Santa Claus. Christmas day is the day that family members gather together around the fireplace, enjoy the meal, talk and play games in the warm atmosphere. Then people come to the church and pray to the God, confess about their all sins and sufferings, their hope for healthiness and happiness. Many schools and works are usually closed on Christmas Eve so families can stay together at that special night. The most well-known symbol is Santa Claus- the imaginary old man with long, white hair and beard with a red coat who children believe to bring them presents at Christmas. To sum up, Christmas is one of the most meaningful holidays of the year for people to stay together and take a rest after a hard working year.

There are several holidays held in a year. It is Christmas holiday that is interesting. Christmas occurs on 24 and 25th December but it starts from the beginning of the month. During Christmas, people are more friendly and gentle with each other because they believe to have a happier life without sorrow. I enjoy decorating Christmas tree and walk around the streets looking at the buildings and the trees around the city such as in squares and parks, shops and offices. Especially, there is always a big tree at city’s center, in which people gather and pray together in Christmas night. All the city is decorated with color and lights; therefore, it is a chance for citizens go out, take many beautiful photos and transfer to each other. We take part in several interesting activities like creating snowman, playing in snow, making homemade candy or cake, cleaning house. The snow is a symbol of Christmas. To me, it is a symbol of renewal and cleanliness of the upcoming event. Besides, the children enjoy receiving presents, which are put at the tree by Santa Clause. They believe he brings obedient kid joy, good health and hope for a new year. Actually, the gifts are prepared by parents or relatives in order to encourage them study and well behave with other. The tradition of giving presents originates from the old days and it becomes one of features of Christmas holiday. Christmas reinforces the belief of one’s soul and heals all sadness and dissatisfaction. In my opinion, it is essential to continue this holiday because of its beneficial role in culture of one country.Merry chritmas happy
