I drifted from the prompts, via a desire of my object, dissolving into its materiality, its reflective qualities and of light

Recalling my wandering, catching light and at times my reflection, in the glass of the window, in between the blinds, the slots between and how my reflection merged

Or better yet, became a slot itself

The object was not object, it was vibrations, moments of bubbles, one by one

A shaking

I felt inside an agitation

The object is not the object, but a mass filled of particles all colliding

The hue…green

A glow of something from the jungle, or of something chemical

A mix, a hybrid

Then I quickly photographed 5 images, an extension of my automatic harvesting

Such a special experience to move together (very gently) in the space before watching, thinking about sound, hearing, listening
And then a film like LAND/SCAPE which is so sonic

Programme 2 really made me think about the sound but then also all the other senses - sound and visuals are part of the film, but even those that are not part of the cinematic experience (touch, smell, taste) are really present and conscious

stillness, listening (whole body), orientation - as kinaesthesia in experiencing the festivals films. Difference from everyday experience of being pulled in all directions. Reflecting on the liveliness of conversation as keynote bringing excitement and new ideas as a centrifugal force. Punctuated with the framing and containing experience in the films - celebrating the different rhythms of life - how stillness can provoke lively conversation, and vibrant experiences can creating stilling films. How we can hold all these things together in the festival. thank you.

I m doing the festival ' at home' so a bit behind the group... the screening I ve seen so far have been brilliant. I ve loved every film - it's an amazingly rich collection and food for the heart ( after the long winter) congratulations to those who made them and those who selected them for this weekend and thank you.

I have follow the festival online.
Really outstanding screenings, specially 3, 5 and 6.
The fold: Great workshop this morning with Glenna Batson and Susan Sentler. It expanded my world and taught me to expand my children's world. Never thought this could be possible out of poetry. Incredible folding experience!
Marvellous Installations also. I have seen "Peace/Lemon", Sayaka Kasumoto and "The Floating Book IX", Margarita Zafrilla Olayo and Pato Bosich.
Thank you also for the multiple ways of approaching the works conceived by the festival (sound, touch and sight, Claire Loussouarn videos)

Festival and The Shared space of Hackney Marshes

hello everyone! What an honour to have been part of this festival... just imagined the beauty of being there together! The only film we could watch so far was the Hackney Marshes installation, great aesthetics. Loved the passing of the seasons. The haptic quality. The non-linearity. The sensuous movements of both the mover with her body and the filmmaker with his body and camera. Loved it! Looking forward to seeing the others, cheers, Giulia and Michal

All were fascinating. Particularly the Collettivo Confluenze cinematic work with great aesthetics: we really enjoyed the combination of human performance with nonhuman elements of the land. We are wondering about the location? Alexa Velez performance and video was stunning. We did not expect this sort of ending :)

There is something about watching the films in this festival (incl the migration film you just showed) which helps me to find stillness and orientation and listening…like my being is listening at a deeper level - which is different from everyday life where I might get pulled in many directions. Orientation is coming up for me as a ‘kinaesthetic’ experience. thanks.

I believe we need to address other films, filmmaking that falls more into experimental film art that also yields kinaesthetic tethers, bringing in questioning as to what is/can be movement, novel ideas around continuity, light, patterns, materialities, other bodies etc. that go beyond the ‘human body’ and yet associate directly with it.

Thanks so much to both of you for such an enjoyable talk. I was struck by what you set at the start about singularity and keynotes. Talking together and then Sobcheck’s bringing together of body and film. It made lots of sense in the feet moving down the stairs. Could you talk more about singularity and viewing and film?
