Planned absence
  1. Send a LOA request to HLT (this should be via Access).
  2. Let HOF/LM know.
  3. Work set will be on a VC PowerPoint, and should be adapted (for non-specialist cover) with resources printed and clearly placed in teaching rooms.
  4. Email PPT and any instructions to Science TLR team and Cover team.
Unplanned absence
  1. Call school and leave a message, including name and reason for absence by 730am.
  2. Email Science TLR and Cover team details of work.
  3. Non-teaching staff email HUC and LM
  4. KS4 - Set work on SMHW in the event of isolating students.

Ensure you are working efficiently and SMART. Set time aside for each task and consider a timetable for yourself. At the end of each working day I plan ahead each 30min slot in my day, prioritising urgent tasks but ensuring the important ones get my attention too. This will help you conserve your energy and have the "tick it off the list" feeling :)

- is the PK statement just the essential facts to know? YES
- does the sequence of PK build on prior statements? YES. (Basically, is it in the right order for the lesson)
- is the vocabulary only tier 2/3? YES
- is it simple? YES
- are there PK repetitions in a sequence of lessons? NO (this is not needed, is it assumed students have learnt the prior knowledge, it will be our spiralized SOL that will support retrieval)

Remember, this IS NOT a scheme of learning. Is it quite simply the factual knowledge that the students need to know. Its a project format running over the 3 science lessons students have on those weeks, each lesson has 3 activities in it, one of which is a practical which needs booking with the technicians.
When you are planning/booking, please make it clear to technicians if you are in a different room as well as which band you have at that time!!
