We are working on writing opinions about favorite books.  Next week we will begin video taping students sharing their favorite books.  We will then upload the videos to a   padlet so other students can watch the videos and check out the books.

The students chose a book that they have read independently, we read as a class, or they read in a reading group that was a favorite. So far each student  wrote out a plan for what books they wanted to say about their book choice. They had to give the title, author, a brief summary of the book to grab the audience's attention and tell what they liked about the book. We are going to use Screencasify to video each student giving their book "Shelfie".

We had a passage that we had all previously read and worked on reading fluently. For this project Trina helped me to have 2 students at a time record themselves reading the passage. I then added the videos of each student to a google classroom. From there students could watch each other's videos and leave comments.

Each student read a passage to work  on their fluency from a book. Student recorded a video of themselves reading the passage. Students were able to review their classmates videos and leave a comment.  I will be commenting on each student's video and will leave a comment with something they did well and one suggestion. I did two of Kay's kids as well.  Shannon got a Shelfie from each student in her class.  

Shannon's children enjoyed watching them but were also a little embarrassed when they came up on the screen.  She hopes to have them do the recording next time, and to record in a better location.  

Laura's kids wrote  about their favorite book and recorded it.
  They did experience some technical difficulties. We will include a picture of the described food. We hope to gather recipes and make a recipe book. We would also like to do a cooking demonstration of one of the recipes.
