During the unit on The Crucible the class will be performing a mock trial with the teacher standing in as judge. Students will be assigned into groups of prosecution, defense, witnesses, and the accused. They will need to figure out what it would take to be an effective lawyer at the time, 1692, why people would accuse or defend their neighbors, and what options they had as the accused. Eventually the trial will begin and sparks will fly!
