I think the simplification stage  is most important in the interlanguage process because it allows students to learn one meaning to a word. It is important to learn from your mistakes and restructuring allows students to subconsciously avoid making that mistake again. This is also allowing students to think before they speak and fully articulate what they want to say. I feel as though many students get the grammar quick but the word order in which way it goes is always different from their L1.
