I think I had an entirely new experience here in one of the classrooms of TFI. It was a welcome change from how school used to be for us when we were kids. The fellows here have taken the time to understand the students, their personal struggles their little joys and personality types. This attention to individual students, has worked wonders in ensuring effective participation. The students are responsive, responsible, kind and really eager to learn. Even the quiet, introvert kids have the courage to speak, in this space. The hands on learning techniques, real life references and small rhymes and games have made sure each and every kid learns. And they learn happily. They feel seen and visible. And it was really joyful to witness that entire process unfolding right in front of me.

Today I got a wonderful opportunity to pay a visit to Daffodils high school to have a glimpse of how the fellows from Teach for India works. It has been a great and life changing experience. I saw the personal connect and the level of interaction in the classroom. Even with just the basic amenities the environment was amazing. I can definitely say now that a teacher can build a classroom anywhere and here is the proof!!!!!! Great experience... Quite inspiring!! Hats off TEACH FOR INDIA .......

It was a very enriching experience observing the Teach for India fellows taking their classes. It gave me valuable insights into the tenets of teaching. We got hands-on exposure to the wonderful way in which the Teach for India fellows conduct their classes. I understood what a perfect classroom management and class participation actually feels like.

It was a beautiful experience observing the classes taken by the fellows. I was amazed to see that all the children were so responsive and all of them were participating with so much of enthusiasm in the class. The fellows made the class very interactive and ensured that each child had equal contribution in the class. Both of them really inspired me by the techniques they used to teach and how they catered to all these children's education at large.

It is an great opportunity to meet great minds and the work they have done and doing right now is excellent. It is always a pleasure working under informative & collaborative method of Teaching-Learning way. We can actually see the effort of TFI towards their social responsibility along with personal satisfaction of doing right things at right place. It was just an extremely nice experience !! Kudos to TFI !!

The teacher is very good at everything. Morning meetings really helping the students well. The signs and tactics are good and going in a unique manner.
The atmosphere of the class room is wonderful. Students are becoming part of the class and active.

Joining the classroom session with Teach For India was a transformative experience that left an indelible mark on me. As I stepped into the classroom, I was immediately struck by the energy and enthusiasm radiating from both the students and the dedicated educators. The vibrant exchange of ideas and the palpable eagerness to learn created an electric atmosphere, one where education wasn't just confined to textbooks, but extended to real-life applications and personal growth. The most wonderful thing about the class was how democratic it was. Students are encouraged to develop their cognitive ability and I think that is one of most important aspect that the class touched upon. This was special.

It was wonderful to watch the kids have fun. Being faced with young minds, so many impressionable ones must be daunting. It was awesome to watch someone do it in front of us. The kids treated each other with a fairness that can only be taught by a person who is, to the core of themselves, fair, and kind. It was great, can't wait to do it myself!

The title sums up what today's visit into a Teach for India classroom gave me. The energy in the classroom was palpable and made me forget the gloomy weather outside immediately.
My takeaways: As a fellow, I have to be open and inclusive; friendly yet not too informal; enable learning through questions and answers; focus on feelings to draw out the child's answers to value based questions; have an interactive approach to enhance a feeling of comfort that will develop into confidence; have activities that move smoothly from one skill to another.

I express my gratitude to the Teach for India team for this immersive experience. The focus is on holistic development of children through critical thinking and empathy. I hope to make my contribution to this endeavour soon. Thanks once again.

The day I went on my school visit to Alipore Little Learners School, a heavy downpour was wreaking havoc in the city since morning. This made me a little apprehensive . I was worried about my timely arrival to the school. However I managed to reach there on time. As soon as I entered the schoolroom where one of the fellows of TFI were teaching, all the gloomy and negative thoughts zoned out of my mind. An electrifying energy that exuded from the classroom environment kept me completely hooked on to the session till the end. I sat with one of the students to observe and make some notes during the class. But the teaching learning process was so engaging and enriching that for a few minutes I myself felt like a student. I wish we too were taught in such an interactive and innovative way back when we were kids. An aspect that stood out was the fellow's endearing way of addressing each and every student as "friend". Colourful and informative charts adorned the classroom walls which educated the students on various aspects of their lives. Additionally I was also struck by the command they had on the language English. Most of them come from families where they can barely make their ends meet. In such circumstances achieving this kind of a feat is truly remarkable and the credit for this undoubtedly goes to the Fellow. Their unique teaching method emphasizes on the sound of the letters which in turn leads to better understanding of the words and the grammar.
Teach for India is certainly living up to their mission of providing a holistic development of the future citizens of our country. This school visit has really been a transformative experience for me . It has filled me with renewed vigour and enthusiasm to pursue my goal of teaching in future.

I love and appreciate how TFI actively works towards creating a safe space. It is a wonder what children can accomplish when they are not constantly living in survival mode. Having worked with another organisation previously, I am aware of the challenges that come with teaching children, especially those from undeserved communities. However, this is a challenge I am willing to take. I also appreciate the different teaching methodologies and approaches that TFI is experimenting to attain this goal. This whole thing is a continuous learning process and I believe, as long as I am a learner, I will keep improving on becoming a better teacher.

I am extremely grateful to have found that TFI exists and today’s webinar was such an eye opening experience into the TFI community. Seeing the activities and experiences of the fellows and students from social media makes me anticipate for the same. The cons and the hard experiences scared me a little but I am excited for the challenge and 🤞🏼I hope if I get selected I will be able to deal with it like Gyatri and the other brave fellows and alumnis. Heads up for you guys.

I was always trying in creating a change over the differentiation of a same kind. I felt that this is what i always wanted. I got this great confidence after the session that i can achieve it despite the odds through TFI.
