Not every student is working on the same problem, and once each student is done, they have to sell a student on their explanation. If the student buys the explanation, they can get checked by the teacher in order to be cleared for the problem.


    By having students work through their explanations, and having multiple steps in the problem solving process, students develop problem solving skills and the agency to execute said skills.
