George Washignton knew how to be a proper leader and was willing to listen to the ideas of others. I also believe the colonists won because they didn't fight by the "rules" and fought in ways that the British were not trained for. The spy unit helped spread information on the British and even was used to fool them into thinking the colonial army was in one place when really they were in another.
