         <title>The Rainbow Fish </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Art form and Style of Art </strong>: Visual Art based on a literacy activity </p></li><li><p><strong>Art Elements evident in the artwork</strong> : Different watercolors painted with paintbrushes . Different materials with different textures . Black marker used for facial features . </p></li><li><p><strong>Materials used</strong>  <em>: Watercolor , Paint brushes , Construction Paper , Glue , Black Marker , Aluminum foil </em></p></li><li><p><strong>Description and directions</strong> : The children traced &amp; cut their fish . With different paintbrushes , they painted the fish by lines . When it dried , they pasted the scales made from aluminum foil . They then put on the facial features. </p></li><li><p><strong>How I can use this&nbsp;activity with children </strong>: This activity would be used to reinforce the message from the story of "The Rainbow Fish". The children then exhibit their art &amp; talk about the story .</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <title>Drawing flowers in a garden</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Art form and Style of Art : </strong>Visual Art , drawing </p></li><li><p><strong>Art Elements evident in the artwork</strong> : A square was painted green &amp; then it was ripped by hand to act as the grass . When it dried , we drew the flowers on the paper behind the green paper using markers . </p></li><li><p><strong>Materials used</strong> : Square Construction paper , Tempera colors, glue &amp; Colored Markers . </p></li><li><p><strong>Description and directions</strong> : On the square paper , we used paintbrushes to paint green &amp; earthy tones . When that dried , we ripped it up with our hands &amp; we pasted it on a rectangular construcion paper . We then drew the flowers on the paper behind with different shapes and forms . </p></li><li><p><strong>How I can use this&nbsp;activity with children </strong>: Giving children the option to draw flowers , insects , clouds , etc . on the sqare background paper . </p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <title>Painting with Marbles </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Art form and Style of Art : </strong>Visual Art , painting </p></li><li><p><strong>Art Elements evident in the artwork :</strong> A web of different colors .</p></li><li><p><strong>Materials used</strong> - <em>Cardboard box , White Construction paper , Tempera paint chosen by the classroom &amp; 6 marbles . </em></p><ul><li><p><strong>Description and directions</strong> - The children grabbed a cardboard box &amp; put their construction paper at the bottom of the box . Then , they put drops of paint in the box on the paper &amp; dropped 6 marbles in the box . Then , they moved around the cardboard box &amp; the marbles made the web design shown above. </p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>How I can use this&nbsp;activity with children </strong>- <em>There needs to be extreme safety when using the marbles . There are different forms &amp; shapes of paper that can be used. Demonstrating the effect of using certain materials used with the paint . </em></p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Art form and Style of Art : </strong>Visual art , collage </p></li><li><p><strong>Art Elements evident in the artwork</strong> : Different colors , texture &amp; different forms of squares .</p></li><li><p><strong>Materials used</strong> : Construction paper of different designs with green &amp; blue , Glue , and a circle stencil . </p></li><li><p><strong>Description and directions</strong> : The children start off with white construction paper . In the center , they form a circle with the stencil . Then , they cover the circle with green paper &amp; the outside , with blue paper . </p></li><li><p><strong>How I can use this&nbsp;activity with children </strong>: This can be used to celebrate earth day . This is done by utilizing colors &amp; shades that represent the earth and water . This supports their creativity . </p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <title>Painting with Shaving Cream &amp; Color </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Art form and Style of Art </strong>: Visual art , textured art </p></li><li><p><strong>Art Elements evident in the artwork</strong> : Texture , mixed colors .</p></li><li><p><strong>Materials used</strong> - Black <em>Construction paper , Figures made of white construction paper ,glue,  Shaving foam , watercolors &amp; droppers . </em></p></li><li><p><strong>Description and directions</strong> - The children glued the white figures on the black construction paper . Then , we added shaving foam on the white paper . Watercolor was added with droppers &amp; they used their hands to mix in the colors . </p></li><li><p><strong>How I can use this&nbsp;activity with children </strong>: This stimulates their 5 senses , you can feel it , smell it , etc. Questions are asked about what happens when materials are mixed . Different figures can be used , different animals , shapes , flowers , etc. </p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Art form and Style of Art : </strong>Visual Art</p></li><li><p><strong>Art Elements evident in the artwork</strong> : Texture , colors &amp; 3 D </p></li><li><p><strong>Materials used</strong> : White construction paper , Red paint , Sponge , Rolled up paper , Water , Tissue paper &amp; glue </p></li><li><p><strong>Description and directions</strong> : The children trace a heart and then they cut it out . Then, it is painted with a sponge dipped in red paint . Once its dry , they will make balls of tissue paper painted in red and glue them around the border of the hear . </p></li><li><p><strong>How I can use this&nbsp;activity with children </strong>: Children can use any color or shape &amp; follow the same directions . </p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <title>Musical Instrument </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Art form and Style of Art </strong>: Visual art , with creative movement </p></li><li><p><strong>Art Elements evident in the artwork</strong> : Sounds , textures , &amp; three dimensional . </p></li><li><p><strong>Materials used</strong> : Paper plate , ribbon , markers , foam stickers , glue, bells,  hole punch &amp; a stick . </p></li><li><p><strong>Description and directions</strong> : On a paper plate , the children make their design on the plate &amp; stickers are added . With a hole punch , holes are made all around the plate . Then the ribbon is tied on . Another plate is added on top of the first plate &amp; the bells are put inside the two plates . </p></li><li><p><strong>How I can use this&nbsp;activity with children </strong>: Introducing music that uses a tamborine , this art makes sounds like a tamborine . This is an auditory activity so the children know that art can be visual and musical .  </p></li></ul><p><br/></p>]]></description>
