Hi! I'm Sara S Garza but people usually call me Misha. I'm from Monterrey, Mexico. I'm the leader of the Human Rights Club at my school as well as the founder of the Gender Studies Club and soon, if all goes well, I'll be the co-founder of the Gay Straight Alliance at my school too! Spanish was my first language but I've been speaking English since I was four. I also speak a bit of German and French. I'm so excited to work with and meet all of you <3

Hey everyone! I'm Rachel Chasalow, and I'm a 17 year old girl from Los Angeles, California. I'm choir, and I do improv, and I'm a leader of the on campus gender club at my school. Outside of school I work a lot with children- I'm a counselor at a sleep away camp for underprivileged kids living in LA, and during the year I work at my temple as a teacher's assistant in the fourth grade classroom. This summer I worked in the child interviewing lab at USC law school as a research assistant. (It was incredible!!) Excited to meet you all! :)

Hi! My name is Julia Waddles, and I am a sophomore at Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am a very active member of CAFE Club at my school (Cultural Acceptance for Everyone). I recently just attended SDLC (Student Diversity Leadership Conference) in Atlanta which goes along with the People of Color Conference. Along with this, I play tennis and participate on the debate team as well, which adds to my interest in public speaking. I have an interest in journalism and law as well.

Hey y'all! I'm Kailey McNeal and I am a senior in high school in Dallas, TX. I sing in choir, participate in the annual musical production, and I play piano. Outside of school I have been volunteering with my local animal shelter for 5 years and I recently started volunteering with a few local farm animal protection organizations through leafleting events around Dallas. I am super passionate about social justice issues, especially animal rights (I'm a vegan) and eliminating speciesism. I hope to one day go to law school and work in government for animal protection legislation. I can't wait for this class!

Hello! I'm Ana and I'm a senior in Minneapolis MN. I'm interested in this class because I feel really strongly that the future my future will involve being an active member of my community. I'm interested in addressing issues of achievement and wealth gaps as well a feminism. I participate in my schools United Nations so I'd be interested in exploring the international aspects of advocacy. Additionally I left this quote because I'm also of the belief that empathy can be fostered in story telling and art. In this class I'd like to learn how to inform and engage people in a way that doesn't further polarize.

Hey y'all! My name is Zeno and I'm a current Junior at Louisville Collegiate School in Louisville, KY. At school, I am part of the entrepreneur program working with local start ups, captain of the pep club, I participate on the mock trial team, equestrian club, ski club, and an am a student-tutor. Outside of school, I am a summer sailing instructor in NC, avid golfer, swimmer, and captain of my local polo team. I am very passionate about politics and have done internships with two congressmen so far. I'm interested in taking Advocacy because I plan to go into law/ politics in college and believe this course will give me a great start into advocating for public change. Hey everyone! I'm Daniel, a senior from Catlin Gabel in Portland, Oregon. My main focus in high school is computer science, but I'm interested in math, history, and plenty of other issues as well. I compete and tutor in computer science in math, and participate in various clubs. Advocacy excites me because I believe there's a lot that can be done in the world, and many people/causes that need a voice, and it'll be great to explore what this is like.

Hi everyone! I'm a senior at Kent Denver School in Colorado. I'm excited to take this class because I am very passionate in being an advocate for people, especially African Americans. I think this class will just be able to broaden my mindset on ideas of other people. I am excited to have conversations with all of you that I am not able to have at my own school. This class would be a stepping stone to my advocacy carer as I major in social science and pursue social work. I don't play sports but I was a cheerleader, I draw I sing and sort of play the piano I also love snapchat.

Hey, I'm Kasper and I'm from New York. I'm a senior at Greenwich Academy like Whitney. I'm really passionate about social activism and advocating for black and lgbt+ rights. I'm a music producer and artist outside of school, and my dream is to go on tour. I took a Civil Rights class last year and am currently in a Hip Hop class learning about black history through music. I'm taking this class because I want to continue my studies in advocacy, but I also want to study with students from all over the world. I'm a strong believer in the importance of diversity and human rights for everyone.
