Learned behavior is a form of adaptation that comes along when an individual experiences something.
In short, animals will learn and then problem-solve.
Flexible form of adaptation, can occur any time.
Smarter and stronger organisms adapt using this method more than innate behavior.
Will expand fitness and intelligence in species as well as taught to future generations.
Imprinting is one form of learned behavior, where organisms who are younger will form associations with the environment that are permanent.

Social behaviors can have some costs associated with them, but are more beneficial to species as a whole. Animals will live in social groups for protection and easier work to find resources such as food, water and other materials used for their survival. They can surround their prey and trap their food easily. Breeding and mating are often social so that the reproductive process is more of a success. In short, social behaviors are very beneficial and can increase the fitness and survival rate of a species.

A recent invasive species, the feral pig in Dallas has taken over and caused mass destruction to grass. The scientist investing this situation, Smith, doubts that hunting will ever solve this problem. The pigs have adapted from learned behavior and will move away from sites people prefer to hunt, and eating at night so they won't be caught as easily.
