Students will meet the standard by: Listening and writing about their own culture.

Students will listen to the story, "The Keeping Quilt"

Students will do Interactive reading by reading aloud and discussing their cultural traditions with a classmate and compare and contrast to their classmate.

Students will: Draw a picture of a special clothing that they believe that represents something about their family, culture, or ethnicity and that they would include on a quilt. Then they will write an explanation on why they choose that item.

Students will search on a Famous Latino that forms part of U.S history and will then create a Biography based on their person.

Students will: Create a Biography on their person they search. They will have to answer why the Latino is important, and the contributions he made for the U.S history.

Students will: Write a paragraph summarizing the book and onto why it is important where we come from. They can use textual evidence in order to compare with the book.

Students will: Watch the video on What is Culture? Student will gather in group and discuss about the video, then as a class we will discuss on the video. Students Individually will fill out a Venn Diagram on two different cultures that are different from their culture

Students will: Be reading the article https://latino.si.edu/learn/teaching-and-learning-resources/hispanic-heritage-month-resources/hispanic-heritage-month.

Student will: Brainstorm in groups about why we celebrate Hispanic Heritage, and how it become a celebration. They will provide answer on poster paper and share it with their classmates.

Students will: Complete a Word Search on El Cinco de Mayo Vocabulary.

Students will: Fill out a Worksheet about the topic.

Students will: Search and Read their favorite Spanish Folktale. Then students will try to make up a Dance to the folktale they choose

Students will: Work on their chrome book, laptops, or any device. They will create a line plot on the last 10 years of how immigration has increase. They each will interpret the data and answer question on how immigration has increase? By how much? etc...

Students will have to search if any historical event was happing during those 10 years they are search about and how these might have affect the increase or decrease of immigration

Student will: Be searching, explaining and recreating a dance that represent their culture.

Students: will be writing on why they choose these dance and what it means to their culture.

Students will: Be dancing a the dance they choose to their classmates.
