It is an ancient tradition. It lasts for several days, with people starting working in early morning hours and ending the day with a feast in the accompaniment of vintage-themed folk songs.

Kolkhoba

An annual Laz festival held each year at the end of August or the beginning of September. Lazeti residents used to gather on the coast and swim in the sea. During the celebration of Kolkhoba theater performances are followed by a variety of activities and it is considered one of the main public festivals.

On these nights, museums turn into a stage for theatrical performances, readings, singing, tastings and other forms of entertainment. Entrance to the museums is free from 12:00 to 22:00. The National Museum of Archeology and History organizes a series of events to mark the occasion.

Other museums organize special exhibitions and events, such as the Coffee & Art Vernissage. The Museum Night is held under the auspices of the Council of Europe and is organized in parallel with the International Museum Day.

Ataturk dedicated May 19, to the country's youth and since then, it has been celebrated as "Youth and Sports Day". Ataturk called young people"The student, at whatever age, should be looked at from the point of view of the adults of the future and they should be treated as such."

We have lots of responsibilities for Turkey's future. Young people have to claim to be owner of Turkey's culture and values.

In parallel with the religious holiday, a popular tradition developed, much loved and awaited especially by the little ones, was developed: "La Befana". It is said that on the night of January 5 to 6 , a hunchbacked old woman with a big nose, badly dressed and poor, rides on a broom to the houses where there are children and leaves them gifts. To the good ones he puts toys and sweets in the carefully placed socks, while to those who did the naughty ones he leaves coals (dark sweets).This year took place in Fornovo, a town near Parma, the national assembly of the Befans and Befans (cotoroants and "cotoronts") . The numerous games, contests, musical performances, stalls with objects specific to the event, as well as the demonstrations of craftsmen, craftsmen and artists also contributed to the creation of the festive atmosphere, colored by the costumes of those disguised in the nice character.

After the historic parade the two opposing teams “Tramontana” and “Mezzogiorno” meet to a power struggle at the Ponte di Mezzo (a bridge that cross the Arno river in Pisa). In the middle of the bridge there is a 12 meter long car on rails. Every team gathers at the two ends of the car. From here, the men try to push the car on the opposing side the more than possible. The victory goes to the team, which has managed to place the car on the opponent’s territory. The battle is long just one night, but the preparations for the event continue all Year!

It is a magical time when the scent of the flower fills the air and the green fields are suddenly filled with a beautiful shade of purple all around. A part of the celebrations includes a flower show and a fold art event celebration as well.

The Summerfest International Folklore Festival is a festival that was established in the year 1987 and is a small festival conducted to celebrate the different forms of talent from across the world, and partecipants fromvarious countries come to this festival to show of their talents and craft.
