Kahoot-Students LOVE playing this game. I plan to utilize Kahoot to review or practice material and check for understanding. 
2. iMovie-I use this app to create videos that I show to my students to get them excited about a lesson. iMovie is very user friendly when using a green screen feature. 
3. Class Dojo-I plan to use Class Dojo for classroom management and communication with parents. 
4. Google Maps-I love to use this as  a way to take virtual field trips in class. Some students have never been to St. Louis or to the beach so when teaching about landmarks or ecosystems, this is a great tool to increase understanding. 
5. Flip grid-I LOVE using this app for students to quickly present their knowledge. These strategies are successful because they maximize student engagement through a multisensory approach and an enthusiastic classroom environment. My favorite component of Whole Brain Teaching is the use of the Scoreboard as a classroom management tool. During lessons (or throughout the entire day), students may earn points as a class for modeling appropriate behavior such as following directions, not talking out, or not talking while the teacher is talking. When they misbehave, interrupt, or shout out, the teacher will earn a point. When the students get a point, the teacher will immediately tally this point on the board and students will shout out, “Woohoo!” When the teacher gets a point and records it on the board, students will say, “Aw man!” These responses help keep students engaged during the entire lesson. The game improves the classroom management, motivates students, and promotes a positive classroom environment. Prizes will be offered when the students win. Possible prizes may include Dojo Points, PBIS tickets, a piece of candy, or extra talk time when time permits.

By the time I get to zero, students should either be back and their seats with their attention on me or in a bulldog line by their cubbies. When transitioning this way, I like to whisper their instructions and tell the students to tip toe to their destination. This keeps students quiet and makes them feel as if they are playing a game.

I also like to count to 4 and give instructions for each number that I say. For example, when lining up, when I say: 1: Stand up beside your desk. 2: Push in your chairs. 3: Walk to your cubby at a level zero. 4: Turn and face the door with a bone and a tail.

When students are in line, I choose two Mystery Walkers to watch. If these two Mystery Walkers are doing what they are supposed to do the entire time, when we return to the room they will be rewarded with a PBIS ticket, brag tag, or candy.

When waiting in line to switch classes or to dismiss, I like to play games to prevent the students from becoming restless. We usually either play Sparkle to allow students to practice their spelling words or we will "Go on a picnic" where students have to figure out my rule in order to come along on my picnic. An example of the rules I use: Words with long vowel sounds.

Passing out papers: Giving students their materials for a lesson can be extremely time consuming. During a lesson, we must utilize every minute we can for instruction. To maximize our time, I utilize "Material Baskets" where I put every paper the students will need for the lesson and any other supplies like scissors, glue, or markers. I pass these material baskets out to each table before the lesson begins.

Restroom Breaks: During restroom breaks, I reward responsible students by choosing them for Bathroom Monitor. I believe that if a teacher builds strong relationships with their students, strong classroom management will follow. Students need to feel valued, loved, and respected. Teachers can do this by getting to know their students and incorporating their interests as often as possible.
