In the movie, the Kriptonian is summon in front of the judges to respond of all the crimes he commits : essentially manslaughter and public damages. This titan is at the center of the phase 3 of the MCU because he wants to wipe out the half of the living creatures in the universe with the infinity glove; but why would he do that ? Firstly , it important to precise that Thanos is not the same as the most super-villains : of course he is a little crazy but he don't to that just to destroy or for fun like The Joker, he do that because it's a necessity (for him).
