Now let's let's get started with our training.

As are many nurses and doctors we have to be prepared for anything. Sometimes we will have to treat the wounded in the middle of this, and sometimes even in the middle of the jungle. This my friends is our medical jungle kit. The first product is Frazer’s solution, this product is used for athlete's foot. In the hot and humid  jungle athlete's foot is a difficult problem for our troops and must be addressed. Next product is iodine. Iodine is another medicine that protects you from getting bacteria in an infection. It is also used if any surgical procedures need to be done between the area before surgery . In the jungle there are many insects, some of them can be deadly so this Insect repellent is very necessary for protection.  Sulfadiazine is is also in our jungle kit as we discussed in the previous kit product kills bacteria. Next we have water purification. Another very important product is very necessary in the Jungle. Bandages, dressing, and gauze are also needed to cover injuries and protect them. This tube is called a vile. It is used for storing blood. Sometimes blood needs to be tested in order to diagnose or treat injuries. Blood can be stored in this vile for testing.

Lastly, Atabrine, it helps inflammation that affects joints. 

You'll be expected to know everything you can about the medicines in these kids and what they are used for. You will be tested on this so I hope you during my discussion.

The patient’s name goes on the top line

Military identification

Grade- Company – regiment – division –Corps- 

Next- Age-race- where they were born and years of service. 

Diagnosis of injury section is used to explain the injury

The Treatment section shows what was done to treat the patient.

Disposition is the state of the patient - as example here - The patient was in intense pain and that is why morphine was given.

Lastly,  is the signature of the doctor or nurse attending to the patient. 

Ok, well we are just about through with your first training session. 

So what do we learn today?

We've learned why we wear these Red Cross armbands and how important they are to identify us.

We learned about our medical kits, what medicines we will have And how and why they are used. 

We learned about the importance of medical records and how proper documentation can also save lives.
