Emotions and how different people deal with them

Everyone has a different personality which can dictate how certain emotions dominate others. People who have a pessimistic mindset may be more likely to react with negative emotions such as anger, disgust, sadness or fear while optimistic people are more likely to experience happiness more regularly. In the film Riley was young and naive and knew little about aspects of the real world. She didn't know how to handle negative experiences well. Her happiness tried to cope with everything and drive out any sadness, as she perceived sadness as simply a bad thing, which is a sign of immaturity. Joy does however does see disgust, anger and fear as necessary for survival and basic function, it is not only until she digs deep within herself she realises the importance of her opposite, sadness.
