The Syrian civil war is a very complex and broad topic, so let's start from the beginning of everything. Syrian people were angry at the government because jobs were hard to find and earn a living, so they started protesting peacefully. The government responded with violence, which made Syrian people angrier.
Many farmers lost their crops between 2007 - 2010 because of the little rain. They needed to find new jobs in the cities, which made poverty worse than it was already. Most of Syria's population is Muslim, especially Sunni Muslims, which is different from the government practice. This situation hasn't helped at making things better.
Syria's Civil War has involved other countries too. The two foreign countries that are most involved are United States and Russia. Neighboring countries are now housing many Syrian refugees, which is affecting these countries' economy and government. This is also impacting different countries in Europe.
ISIS or ISIL is an extremist group that emerged in 2013 and quickly gained notice because of its violent acts of terrorism and its social media. The United States has bombed this group since 2014. The Islamic State's goal is to create its own Islamic state in Syria and Iraq. Russia, on the other hand, supports Syria's government and has bombed rebel groups that the US supports and Islamic State targets.
The Syrian government controls the city of Damascus and Aleppo. Rebel groups often fight against each other, making the Free Syrian Army weaker and the extremist groups more powerful. Rebuilding and stabilizing Syria after the war will be extremely hard, and it will most likely need the help of many different countries.

Question: Russia is helping the Syrian situation improve. Agree or Disagree?
