1) The conditions that led Argentina towards a fascist dictatorship was around the 1960's when Argentina was under the rule of Juan Carlos Ongania, which was the general of the military. This general was the reason Argentina was lead toward a fascist dictatorship. He abolished political parties, broke up unions, and welcomed foreign investment. This caused wages to freeze. This then lead riots in 1969.
2) The economics or political climate changed in the 1960's and 1970's because of the decreasing of the food, jobs, etc.
3) The steps that people took to try to change the government was by making an a alliance with other countries. Also by making earnings to the people. Also by making the movements against the government.

Argentina’s President, Juan Peron died in July 1974, leading to political decline. Moreover, it also contributed to growing violence in the country. After Peron’s death, his widow Isabel Peron took control over Argentina. Under her rule inflation and unrest continued. In March 1976, the army regained their power, leading dictatorship to take place in Argentina.

In 1955,the government restored the traditional Argentine oligarchy. Argentina had three failed attempts at rural guerrilla warfare between 1959 and 1969. However people decided in favor of urban warfare after the failed attempts. The economic climate of Argentina changed in 1970 when the import substitution plan ended, which was first started to achieve self-sufficiency. In the late 1960s,there was increased labor influence, wage demands, and huge government deficits because of short-term borrowing. In December 1973, Juan Perón's presidency, wanted for more equitable distribution of income, elimination of unemployment, better distribution of wealth, and more housing, health, welfare, and education programs and services. However, his death in July 1974 and the subsequent political instability aborted this program and led to an economic crisis. In 1978, a medium-term economic adjustment plan was announced based off of free market principles, offering cuts in public investment, and return of some state enterprises to private ownership. These new policies led to triple-digit inflation and increasing unemployment.

There were several attempts to try and change the government by all different kinds of people. There was a movement called “Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo”. Where people held up signs of their missing Children with photos. Another example of a step to change the government is that they had citizens vote. Junta, a military group restored Argentina's Democracy. Later on, Argentina’s other Presidents would attempt to change the government in their own unique way.

1.

In the 1940’s the Argentine government kidnapped people who challenged or in the future would challenge the government. The government would take these people to detention centers where they tortured and killed them. People did not like how the government acted so the military overthrew president Edelmiro Farrell which made Juan Peron(the vice president) the leader of Argentina. Juan Peron then ran for president in 1952 and was re-elected but in 1955 the people of Argentina overpowered Juan Peron and restored Argentina to its original government type which was an oligarchy. Juan Peron then died in 1974 and his wife Isabel Peron gained power over Argentina but she was not fit to a run a country. Around 1976 the military decided t kill anyone who would become a problem which started the “dirty war”. In 3 years 30,000 people were killed because people tried to make Argentina into a communistic society. Then Argentina went into a military dictatorship which was created to improve the economic issues of Argentina. There were many disappearances, lives lost and families separated to fit the wishes of the government. Argentina had various economic problems and they were also defeated by the UK in 1982, this all lead to the end of the dictatorship in Argentina.

2.

In the 1960’s Argentina had various economic problems like inflation and unemployment. Economic problems were actually the cause of the military coup(sudden seizure of power) in 1966 and the suspension of the constitutional government. Many people debated over enterprises but in the late 1960’s the government turned over some state enterprises to private owners but others believed that state enterprises should pay the people of Argentina on a regular basis. In the 1970's the government tried to fix the broken economy as well as the political instability of Argentina. Argentina returned to a constitutional government which brought increased labor influence, wage demands, inflation, and government deficits to the country. The Argentine government had created a three year plan which would reconstruct and liberate Argentina. In 1973 Juan Peron was president again which led to a distribution of income, elimination of unemployment and underemployment, regional distribution of wealth, and extension of government housing, health, welfare, and education programs. When Peron died in 1974 everything he had done was gone, Argentina went back to having an economic crisis. In 1978 the government came up with a plan, that was based on free-market principles and this would make the peso worth less, cut public investments, and return state enterprises to private ownership. This new plan, instead of making the economy better, made the economy worse

3.

Throughout the 70’s in Argentina, people would be kidnapped and there would be no clues that could lead family members to where their beloved ones are. People were scared to speak out and ask abut their family members until the “madres de plaza de mayo” or in English the mothers of plaza of mayo. The mothers would meet every Thursday and chant ” We want our children; we want them to tell us where they are. No matter what our children think they should not be tortured. They should have charges brought before them. We should be able to see them, visit them.” They did not harm people, the only thing they did was inform others of their missing children as well as the cruelty of the regime. What the mothers were doing grew and they would carry signs with pictures of their children and they would wear white scarves to symbolize peace. Soon Human rights groups arrived to help them open an office, publish a newspaper and learn to make speeches. The police did harass the women but it became difficult for the government to ignore the mothers. The mothers allowed others to notice their corrupt government and they were able to spark a revolution where more and more people would stand up and show that the government does not care about the people but themselves.
