I chose this video because I have trouble studying and actually retaining what I am studying. By choosing this video, I am also helping myself by picking up a few new tips and tricks. The technique that is taught in this video is space repetition. It works along side the space effect, our brains can better comprehend, connect, and recall things when you space out the information it receives. With this technique it is actually possible to put in less study hours overall but you still memorize and retain the information. One of the most important parts of studying is forgetting, since we have to work hard to retrieve it, we are less likely to forget it. Our brain is compared to a muscle, because forgetting allows your brain to build.

I chose this video because it corresponds with my other choices. It also seems like a good way for me to start studying in my accounting class, with all of the terms there are. Flashcards promote active recall, the process involves actively retrieving memories out of your brain. One of the tips the video is to make your own flashcards because it is important to intake the information and fumble around with it to make it your own. Add pictures to your card to mix around with the words, and to give you a relevant image to imagine when retrieving the information later on. Create a mnemonic device to remember the information with a simple easy to remember phrase to help recall the information. While study the cards say your answer out loud and learn first before reviewing. All of these tips will play hand in hand in effectively studying.

I chose this article because it is the article that correlates with "The most powerful way to remember what you study" video. It has a bit more detail than the video. I also linked it because I learn better by reading, so when I read this I retained more because I could read and comprehend at my own pace.

I chose this article because it goes more in depth about guidelines for creating a schedule to follow while studying. This article is also more general while the video is more pertaining to exams. I also like having guidelines, I feel like they better help me keep in line and know exactly what I'm doing.

I chose this video so that I can maximize my study time and minimize my procrastination. A study schedule can help you stay on track and maximize the time you have to study. One pro tip is to remember to do your other work while following your study schedule without cramming your day so your brain is in the right frame of reference. A tip from the video is to prioritize your classes, depending on your grade, knowledge gaps, and what is worth the most points. An easy way to find free time is to write your day down in detail, so you can fill in the blanks with blocks of study time. When you are studying, don't just tell yourself that your studying, specifically tell yourself what exactly your studying that way you can get more done. Three main tips from the video are find when your more focused, the wellbeing of your body affects your brain, and make sure to ask for help if needed.
