You get a sense of curiosity, and I have the same feeling whenever I see/hear the strong accents that Umma and Appa have. I have the interest in knowing who they are what what they know, and so on and so forth.

Device: Since Kim's Convenience is focused on Korean culture, it's going to be centered around Koreans living their life in Canada, and because they are Koreans, their place of origin, and their beliefs are greatly expressed through the form of the accents and the way they do things throughout the book and the series.

Purpose: Like the author said the beginning of his play, this was a love letter to his parents, and possibly to other Koreans besides himself. He wanted you to have this effect because he you to learn about his culture throughout the text as well as the people who retain this culture while living in a different place besides their own. 1. This shows the bald eagle, a bird of prey which is commonly known among many people. It represents the United States, it has a cool looking beak alongside the eyes (the powerful vision they have) and the coloration. This can put people in a sense that the bald eagle is a skillful predator of the skies, and that they should admire, and respect it.
2. I've already said this briefly in number 1, but this can also represent the United States of America, which is a massively known country throughout the world, with the added military strength and money.
Like I said above, people can get a sense of respect and awe from what they perceive as "badass" from this photo as well as the representation of their country.

Device: The bald eagle itself, the black, empty background, and the pose and detail of the eagle in the black background.

Background: From what we know, this could be a representation of the United States, or a photo to give honor to the bald eagle, and it's amazing coloration and hunting tactics, and this very photo captures and displays the boldness and intensity of the bald eagle, regardless of how it's perceived.

Fear, Sadness, A feeling of unsureness and of course, dread.
And for the weird ones, this can be perceived as fascinating, cool, or thrilling. 

Device: The obscured, black face with the eyes and the teeth being the only things present in the "women's" shadowed face.

He is a nigh-invincible alien from a planet that blew up from the inside-out and is now one of the main protecters of dc's earth. So of course, this work spark some heroism within those that see this photo.

Device: Superman in space, directly above the earth with the sun being present over the horizon, flying around.

Purpose: They made/posted this photo in order to show people the popularity and the heroism of superman with him being the well-known character in the dc comics. This also shows how strong and fast superman is, with him being able to circle the earth in minutes and resist the outside elements. (Considering that his cells absorb the sunlight, hence his power.)

The device is the the first 4 words before the comma. "Your time is limited" this key word, like I said before, gives readers like us a reminder of our lives and how short it could be considering the likelihood of an accident or a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Each life is unique in it's own way.
