I was able to double-confirm by counting how many branches there were and managed to get the same age.

The needles are flat with the closest thing to markings being that the color becomes a brighter green the closer you get to the fascicles. The needles have stomata aligned on them. These stomata take light energy and carbon dioxide and exchange them for oxygen during the gas exchange.
