Another character is Robert Oppenheimer, he was a scientist and a professor at the prestigious Princeton University. He at first decided not to help in the race to build the atomic bomb but then decided the he needed to help.
The last  character in the story was Adolf Hitler. He was claiming to take some of Poland's land because "it rightfully belonged to Germany". After he threatened to take that land Britain and France declared war on Germany. 
Lastly, the setting was in Berkeley, California, this was where Robert Oppenheimer was on page eight. I think that this is a good summary so far because this is the major events  that have happened so far. The Norweigen team was very  quick to destroy the heavy water plant because they were trained very well for a long time. Heavy water is water with hydrogen in it so it is used for the atomic bomb in Germany.
