         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1989 (my Year 12), secondary science teaching was one of my considered career paths.  However, at the time, the drive (and the fact that my father said I shouldn’t do it) to be a Geologist was greater than my desire to teach or pursue any of my other possible choices.  <br><br>I have spent the past 20+ years working as a Coal Geologist and then Environmental Management professional for various resource (mining / oil&amp; gas) industries across several continents.  Now, with the encouragement and assistance of my husband, I now have the chance to change careers.  <br><br>Through my broad experience as an on-the-ground scientist in heavy industries, I will endeavour to stimulate and encourage my students to enjoy learning about science, and to hopefully promote the field of science as an exciting and rewarding career path.  </div>]]></description>
