He made our rights come true and hopes that we can keep them and not have them taken away. Thomas Hobbes believed in a king should only have power and people should give up their rights. Even though he thought like this he is still remembered as influencing the U.S constitution. 

We need government, if we did not have a government we would be lost. If we did not have a government we would have any rules to follow and the world wouldn't be very organized and there would be a lot of bad people out. While I personally do not agree with the government 80% of the time, I do believe government is needed to keep things in order. Personally, our government is not doing it's job at all and I firmly believe a lot of things need to change before anyone can agree 100% with the government we have in place at the moment. While created for the people, it was created by the wrong people who believe they know what's best for people they do not understand.

We get our ideas of government sometimes from other countries or from writings such as Locke's and Hobbes'. Even though sometimes governments don't do what they promise, they are put in place to protect people and their rights.

For instance, the rise and fall of a dictatorship in Germany stated that absolute power never gave the citizens a say in how the country should be ran.
