Ethics is the correct rules of conduct necessary when carrying out research. Ethics role in psychological research is to protect the participants right in a study and set boundaries between the researcher and the subject. Ethics are important because they without them the researcher can accidentally and unconsciously violate the subjects freedom of choice or even affect the subject's actions in the study which can alter the data collected. So ethics does not only play a major role in psychological research and is very important but is also a benefit of the researcher and subject.
-DAVID S.
RESPONDING to Jewelia
Ethics refer to the correct and moral rules of performance when conducting research. Researchers have to ensure that they are not putting the patients or the "researched" into any danger when they are conducting their studies. There are ethical principles that were placed by the American Psychological Association to make sure people do not feel harmed and forced to do any of the experiments. Some of the principles include informed consent, protection from emotional or physical harm, patient confidentiality with information, and debriefing the entire study to the patient when the experiment is finished. Ethics are important because it guarantees patient satisfaction and avoids any harm to both the researcher and the participants.

I agree especially when the subject is a being that can feel pain, we need to conduct fair experiments that we benefit from its knowledge and also help society with our findings but not by making the subjects feel bad about them selfs or by harming others.
