Initial Thoughts

This is first time for me to do these digital things. And I hope I can relate my previous career to my journal.
I do believe that palliative care in Australia is a good topic to talk about. And this is a good time to start the conversation about assist in death as SA government just published the new documents. Unfortunately, I found it very difficult for me to create my promote video. Therefore, I decided to do something close to our daily life and interesting.
I have come up with 80 ideas and tried to find out the best one for me. I realized that most of my ideas are related to foods.
I am a super food lover. I do enjoy all kinds of films and TV series about foods and agriculture. My background also contributes to my interest in food area. My lovely grandparents were farmers when they were young. I have been playing in their farm before I went to primary school.
After carefully consideration, I decided to choose 'Potatoes' as my topic of the assignments. Potato is one of the most popular vegetables around the world. My goal is to give my audiences some deeper understandings about potatoes.

Target Audience

1. Home cooks who enjoy cooking and want to know about more types of potatoes and how to prepare it. Age range: All ages.
Home cooks may be interest in learning about more ideas about potatoes to increase the variety of their recipes.

2. Students who are studying agriculture, nutrition, or culinary arts and want to learn more about potatoes. Age range: 18-30
Students can learn about potatoes as a part of their research. This journey may increase their interest and of potatoes. I hope they can gain a better understanding of the field and contribute to the future agriculture.

3. Food enthusiasts who enjoy learning about the foods, their origins, their cultures and histories, and how to cook them. Age range: All ages
This work will not only introduce the use value of potatoes, but also telling the stories behind. Food enthusiasts can achieve a deeper appreciation for this amazing food.

This article presents the potato including its history, gastronomy in relation to food tourism. It is a very interesting lecturature review that includes various of research of potatoes. It is a good departure article to understand why potato is so important to the world. It is also a plain English article includes a great number of basic knowledge about potatoes. Audiences may not feel boring while they are reading.

This is an academic book that provides exhaustive and up-to-date information on potatoes‘ nutritional value. It relates to research on genetic modification to enhance the nutrition value of potatoes. The whole book is a good resource for students to reference in their research. The first chapter gives me a good overall of the nutrition of the potatoes.

The book gives me a timeline of how food appears in arts. As the miniature of the era, artistic works always play a role as a recorder. At the same time, food reveals the economic condition of the era. I am able to come up with a better understanding of the art about potatoes. It helps me to relate the artworks, the time, the economy, the culture and the living conditions of people in that era all together.

The article demonstrates that Social media tools are playing a major role in the dissemination of farm information. From this article, I can explore what I can do with my digital media product to help with potato farms and agriculture industry. It analyses the responses and distributions of social media in agricultural industry and provides the database for my products.

The mind map is divided into five sections in different colors, each section includes a different area of the topic. Yellow section is about the edible uses of potatoes. In this section, we will introduce some potato recipes. I assume that this will be home cooking's' favorite. The green, blue and red colored sections are more related to academic terms. It talks about the cultivation and nutrition of potatoes. The first year university students may be more interested in these sections. However, the information is not as deep as an professional journal. I believe that every audiences can understand it. The pink and purple sections are storytelling parts.
