Finding a passion is not easy, and if we are fortunate enough to find our passions we aren't always able to pursue them. In our minds, all that matters is that we live a decent life, with a good job and make enough money to provide for our families. We are afraid of what will happen if we take the risk of pursuing our dreams and passions. We never know what's gonna happen if we don't try. Our families and society plays a huge role in this as well. Our families want the best for us so they always try to make sure we're on the safe side of things but sometimes being on the safe side of things isn't good for us. Being and engineer, doctor, lawyer etc. is very common, but it pays well and that's why people choose them. Society says that some jobs aren't good. We're so worried about what others think that we're afraid to live our own lives. To live without a passion is like dying everyday. Society says some jobs aren't right for women or for a person of a certain race. Even from a young age, people are caught up with doing well in school and passing their classes just so that they can get into a prestigious university. From there it's just finding a job that makes you successful and getting enough money. It's all just about making money- passion isn't important.
Even if you were to be passionate about something, the occupations that it entails wouldn't give you a high salary, so that's why people would easily dismiss it. Then there's also making you family proud.
