I am part of the "Kaleidoscope Museum Project'', an online community that aims to preserve the uniqueness of world culture by recording the culture of different developing nations around the world. In this project, I will be focusing on Vietnam, a developing country. The culture will be covered through the entire scope of Vietnam’s history which includes unique cultures before and after French Indochina. The culture of developing countries is disappearing because of the negative effects of globalization, and the weakness of the economy and politics. For example, Vietnam has been colonized by the French, so its culture would be hybridized. Or, the Indochina Peninsula has been ruled during Dynastic Vietnam, so the culture of the different countries in the peninsula will affect each other. Furthermore, giving up traditional cultures and becoming more globalized can earn more money, so these unique cultures are disappearing. Therefore, this project would be producing an online virtual museum to preserve the uniqueness of Vietnamese culture, and redraw the balance between the culture of small and large countries. The project would be presented through Padlet because anyone can view it, but only I can edit it. Furthermore, the Padlet would be posted on the TKSS website, so people can see and learn about the different cultures from the Padlet. By making more people learn and understand different disappearing cultures, more people can be aware of traditional cultures and preserve them.

At risk level means how danger the culture is comparing to others. 5 is very danger, while 1 is not so danger.

Vietnamese see family as an important aspect of their life. They have a sense of "belonging and loyalty to their family". Moreover, they believe that individuals will impact the whole family name, so people would respect and protect the family name.
The age decides how much respect and responsibility a person has in the family, so elders usually gain more respect, too. The family provider is usually the father or eldest son, where they make the ultimate decisions.
For gender expectations, "the mother will fulfil domestic duties and care for the children". At the same time, women would have more authority and respect in the family.
This type of family culture is disappearing because of gender equality, so women and men are having more similar rights, and there are not much expectations like 'mother should take care of children'.
At Risk Level: 4
