If you are taking college courses or participating in professional development trainings, be sure to explore the Professional Development Program (PDP) to see if you qualify for a stipend at the end of the program year. This stipend recognizes your commitment to the early care and education field and your continued investment in professional growth.

The PDP has been in existence for many years, and the program requirements have remained the same. While the California Workforce Registry is no longer being used for Contra Costa's PDP, we have transitioned to a new platform, the PDP Portal.

The PDP Portal is where you will:

Apply for the PDP program
Upload professional development certificates and college transcripts
Upload your Professional Development and Education Plan
Submit other required documentation that verifies eligibility

All documentation must support your participation during the current fiscal year, July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, and demonstrate that you meet the PDP program requirements.
