I captured my classmate's dance presentation at our Christmas party, featuring the traditional Filipino dance maglalatik. Maglalatik is a cultural dance that symbolizes a mock war, with dancers wearing coconut shell halves on their bodies, creating rhythmic movements. Additionally, we have a tradition called "budol fight," where we eat without utensils using banana leaves.

Celebrated by Filipino Catholics for generations, this nine-day series of Masses honors the Blessed Virgin Mary and prepares hearts for the arrival of Christ.Tracing its roots back to the 16th century, Simbang Gabi originated from the Spanish "Misa de Gallo" ("rooster Mass"). Held at dawn, these early morning Masses were convenient for farmers and followed a tradition established by Pope Sixtus V for harvest season convenience. Over time, the Filipino iteration shifted to night-time Masses, allowing for community gathering and celebration. Here's the moment I captured when my friends were enjoying their meal, aren't they lovely? Yeah, bragging a bit. Anyways, this was during our Christmas party, and it's chow time! This picture was taken by me at Garbo sa Lapu-Lapu, which translates to "Pride of Lapu-Lapu" in English. The grumpy boy second in line is my little brother. This year's Garbo of Lapu-Lapu was participated in by younger children showcasing the pride of each district or place in Lapu-Lapu, honoring the Fiesta of Virgin sa Regla. Filipinos express their devotion and reverence for saints and divine beings through festive celebrations. It's not the only festival we celebrate here in the Philippines but there are so much more. There are plenty of things that us Filipinos enjoy whether we have occasions or not but one stays in our minds and will always be present, it is called "Videoke". It is commonly known as Karaoke and everyone is free to sing whether you can sing in-tune or out of tune. In fact, almost all Filipino households have videoke in their homes and as time passes it becomes more and more part of our identity, tradition and in our life as well so let's sing our ways and ride on the tunes of our destiny's melody. Slaves used to hide food in their hair to serve by using braiding styles when they would run away to freedom. But also rice can make our hair grow. My culture consists of a lot different skin tones because a lot of people vary off of how black people look different because of they skin complexion. A lot of people these days don’t look at how our culture come in different skin tones even when our parents are darker or lighter.
