https://padlet.com/benjaminstephens1/bk65c0kmqw0zls56 A virtual, ever-growing discussion board of the books that you're reading during our Book Club assignment. en-us 2021-04-16 20:27:35 UTC 2021-05-07 13:19:57 UTC hello@padlet.com 2325154 https://padlet.com/benjaminstephens1/bk65c0kmqw0zls56/wish/1493791253 Something that can be learned about life from this book would be "never losing hope", "never giving up in any obstacles you face" and keeping "patience" all of the time.  The book expresses these "inner themes" which can make the readers learn life lessons.  In the book, the Lithuanians have been deported with the NKVD, who give these people no freedom, no access to daily routine resources and provides a not maintained shelter place to live in.  The NKVD have been treating these Lithuanians unfairly everyday but these people have shown patience and never gave up about the NKVD not treating them right.  The Lithuanians have never lost their hope of receiving a message from their loved ones and have not agreed to sign the contract the NKVD provides.  Therefore, the Lithuanians are a great inspiration of learning something about life and motivates us to follow "never losing hope". "never giving up" and showing "patience" in every situation you face.

"short minded kid" to a "understanding mindset" and to a "mature" girl throughout the entire book. Lina has learned and gained the experience of how worse the life could get. One way she thought smarter was when she was thinking of making a trail of drawings for her dad. A way she learned to deal with how people treat her in a different way was to let karma handle it, like when the NKVD pushed her down she just did what they told her to.
