Job Description: Flew planes from factories to military bases for the soldiers.

Economic Impact: Likely saved the military a lot of money as women could be payed much less. Also, likely kept the military air system going with planes being delivered to them.

Social Impact: After women were forced back into domestic settings there was more pushback from women. They felt that they could do much more than be housewives and contribute equally to men. "Cochran and Love both eventually came to hope that as women proved their abilities and commitment to military aviation, the AAF would agree to militarize the program. Militarization would mitigate a number of unequal policies in salary and repayment of expenses, and it almost came about in 1944 when General Arnold planned to commission women pilots as Second Lieutenants within the AAF. These plans, however, encountered great opposition in the media and in Congress, where high-profile hearings in the House Committee on Military Affairs questioned the continued need for women pilots."

Job description: Munition factories made weapons like shells and bullets. The factories provided a constant supply of weapons for the war. It was very dangerous and risky as women worked with highly explosive material.

Economic Impact: The munition factories provided many well-paying job opportunities. By 1994, one-third of the manufacturing jobs were held by women. The manufacturing allowed a constant supply of military weapons for the war. However, after the war, many women were fired and forced to find work elsewhere.

Social Impact: Women were able to take jobs that used to be male dominated. However, after being fired when the end ended, many women went back to traditionally women dominated jobs like being a cook or a maid. Injured workers were mistreated and not given the treatment that they needed. This led to permanent scars and injuries for the workers, which shows the harsh working conditions they faced.

Job description: Women in domestic work specifically house work

Economic Impact: Women made an average wage of $31 while men earned $54 a week. Most black women were fired after the war and they had to change back to working as a maid which impacted their income because during the war there were less people working in domestic work.

Social Impact: They took all of the responsibilities of the mens roles because they were drafted to the war. This enabled a broader societal shift where women contributed more labor. Women in domestic roles helps organize donations and made care packages for soilders.
