Respond to the following two questions by 10/5 at 11:59 PM ET. 1. What did you do well during the microteaching demonstration? 2. What, if at all, might you do differently if you were to teach the same lesson again?

I took a video of my micro teaching online because I was sick. Overall, I think my activity went very well. I made sure I was very familiar with the activity and how to teach it before doing it. My sister who was my student during this activity understood my directions and knew what to do when I asked. If I were to do this activity with Kindergarteners and I would find lower syllables animals and foods to do this activity. I feel as if the bigger syllable foods and animals would be harder for young children to remember how many syllables are in the animals when matching.

I think my mini lesson went well. The "students" enjoyed doing a lesson that had images and getting to have their own word board and images to use. I gave a demonstration as I gave directions, which allowed my audience to understand the activity that was being done. I think the only thing I would do differently is to have the images labeled, since some of them are unclear about what they are pointing to.

I think one thing I did well in my microteaching was repeating the words and sounds several times so students heard the sounds we were looking for. I made sure I was really clear and emphasized the rhyme that was being tested. I asked my "students" questions about what the image was we were viewing so they too said the rhyme sound and told me yes or no if the word belonged in the rhyme house. One thing I might do differently next time is have the students place the cards themsleves instead of placing it for them.

I think my activity went well they understood the instructions very clearly. As well as them being at a word level grade for 'students' to understand. One thing I would do differently was my thing was sorting long and short a's and I didn't have them read it back to me to have practice saying, so I would have them do that next time. But overall it went well.

I thought I did a good job of making sure each "student" was able to understand each image that was on their card. Some of the images for the cards were confusing and it made it difficult to decipher what part of the word was changing. If I were to redo this lesson, I would make sure the cards were of images that are easily recognizable to students. I would potentially create my own set of cards using things around the classroom so it's even more recognizable to students.

I enjoyed doing my mini lesson with classmates. I think that I could have made my instructions a bit more clear and explained the meaning behind this, but when in a classroom this lesson would also stem off of prior teaching so this is an easy fix for the future. I think that I did a good job of giving time for my peers to finish working on each part, and hearing them speak as well. I think I could also work on including different visuals and pieces to work with in this to make it more creative for the future.

I think something that I could have done differently if I had to teach the lesson again, would be to practice more with what I would want to say to students. I think that factor would have given a more realistic reenactment of my acting as a teacher and my group resembling the students.

I loved how collaborative and hands-on this activity was for students. I also loved seeing a different lesson presented, as well as different teaching styles. If I were to do it differently, I would probably use a board game that my students are interested in. I would also let students partner up instead of facilitating it for the students, so that they can compete against one another and turn it into a game.
