When researching for my Unit 11 Film Studies Essay my main source of references was Google Scholar, it allowed me to find books and articles written on subjects I was talking about within my essay. When using Google Scholar I was using phrases such as “Horror Codes and Conventions” to help me find written work on the horror genre. Once I had found an article or book I would search within the book using the Search filter on Google Scholar using keywords such as genre, music and tension and so on to find parts which were talking about points I was going to make within my essay. This allowed me to quickly search through articles and books without having to read all of them as some had over 50 pages which saved me a lot of time. It also allowed me to get through more sources quicker meaning I had more time on my essay.
