If they have somewhere to play and relax then there's no incentive to drive across town to relax. Keeping people happy in a small local area removes their desire to drive anywhere because their needs are met locally.

Tensing

There are also many people who have no place to live. Fort Collins is becoming more popular but it is also a college town and it shouldn't be so difficult to find a home.

Natalia- This big move is important because it addresses a variety of concerns. Buying from local producers can ensure quality and stimulate our local economy. This can also help people avoid chemicals and pesticides that may be found in food from larger producers. Additionally, sourcing food locally minimizes shipping and transport. Having affordable and healthy food benefits everyone in the community.

As a result, people will have more opportunities for work and life so if we focus on keeping our life, work, and play nearby and not across the city, we will be closer to reaching carbon neutrality and zero waste.

By making the public aware of how climate change is impacting the human race may inspire an increase in wanting to protect/prepare certain environments from the effects of climate change. This also may result in a change of life style of certain people to make them more aware of their actions and how their actions are contributing to climate change.

Hawit - Most of the objectives on the document would be difficult to achieve even if extensive time and money were put into them. Attempting all of them at once may even be impossible at the current moment. I chose number 8 because it seems to be one of the more immediately reachable goals, would not be overly difficult because some systems to do this are already in place, and because it would improve equity and quality of life for many people. Lots of food is wasted in our current system, but some stores have agreements with food rescues that allow the food to still reach people who need it at very little to no cost. This prevents perfectly edible food from being thrown out unnecessarily, and helps sustain many families. I think if this was implemented on an even wider scale, it would have a significant impact on our community. Housing and employment can be addressed next, until socioeconomic inequity is reduced to near insignificant levels. Once our society has progressed to this point, less vital objectives can be pursued (convenient transportation, emission-free buildings, and so on).

Rawanda - I think live, work, and play nearby is one of the most important ones regarding Fort Collins because it promotes a more sustainable lifestyle by reducing reliance on cars and minimizing carbon emissions. When people live close to where they work and have access to recreational activities nearby, they can commute by walking, biking, or using public transportation, which reduces traffic congestion and air pollution. Additionally, it helps conserve natural resources by reducing the need for long-distance transportation of goods and services. Overall, this approach supports a healthier environment and promotes physical activity

Cooper- I think this is the most important for Colorado because vehicle emissions are a major factor in air pollution. I think it is important that everyone is given equal access to public transportation for convenience and in order to reduce air pollution.

Maeve- I think that the emission free buildings move is the most important because of how much the Fort Collins population has grown in the past few years, which has majorly increased the local emissions.

Karen - I believe that this is also important to our Our Climate Future, because having a stable community/city with easier ways to start up businesses and/or gain access to jobs will help families and communities with lower-income struggle less. If we are putting the people first then I have seen a lot of families and people of different race and culture struggle or work multiple jobs and yet still not make enough. Having a healthy economy will not only help people with different culture and race, but encourage them to give back to their communities and participate more into a healthier future.

Mary- The idea of Electric Cars and Fleets is a good way to move Fort Collins to have a carbon neutral and zero waste, however even if they become highly accessible will people want to switch to electric considering our demographic of people in Fort Collins?

London- the reason why I feel like these convenient transportation choices are essential for fort Collins is how our city is already a pretty bike friendly place, but it struggles with being quite far apart. for instance, for me to get from my house to work in a car, takes 25 minutes. this makes it inefficient to bike, and better and less expensive choices for getting around would not only help effect the quality of living here, but it would also improve our living conditions with cleaner air and less natural resources being used.

Shirley - I think that this is the most important objectives listed on the document because if the current housing situation in Fort Collins. For a family/person to buy a home here that meets their needs is incredibly expensive. It is even more expensive to purchase a home that is healthy for the environment. Fort Collins is also increasing in populations size. To make this city and its healthy/environmentally safe housings really important.

David- Having a healthy economy is the cornerstone of any successful society. Maintaining this is the most important part of this project, because it's pointless if you achieve all of the other goals but ruin the local economy in the process, considering a good economy is directly tied to human livelihood, and by extension, many of these other goals. To be more structured, goal 9 is the most important because it is necessary in order to achieve the rest of the goals and to maintain a functional society.

10. Zero Waste Economy

I think it is very important to have a zero waste economy especially in the way that it was mentioned. In order to reach this goal it is important to collaborate. Though this I think we will have a more agreeable economy as well as a more sustainable economy. Recirculating resources is also important. When one organization doesn't use all of the resources they have (which I think is pretty common) sharing and recirculating these resources to eliminate waste could help the economy. Collaboration and recirculation can go a long way when we all work together!
