I grew up in a split religion household. My mother is Jewish and my father is Christian. Both sides of the family are very big into celebrations holidays, birthdays, trips etc. Every Christian holiday such as Christmas and Easter my dad's whole side of the family goes to my Aunt's house for a huge dinner where we usually end up staying all day and night. Celebrating holiday's is extremely important to my dads side of the family and if one of us is missing that day, it feels empty. On my moms side of the family we try and celebrate every holiday. Her parents are divorced and siblings aren't as close so sometimes it is hard to find where to go for the holiday because we don't want to leave anyone out. Birthday's are also very important in my family. For any family members birthday we tend to have a week long celebration.

MY HERITAGE

If you read about my traditions already then you know that I was raised in household with two different religions. This is also true when it comes to my heritage. My dad's side of the family is German and Welch, and my moms side of the family is Russian. My moms side of the family, myself included, have never really looked into our heritage or learned about it deeper. I am more in touch with my heritage when it comes to being German and Welch. I was raised on home made German meals from my mom mom which I now cook myself. From the German potato salad to the Sauerkraut, this is the food I was raised on. Heritage has never been a large topic of conversation in my family but it is something that I would be interested in learning more about.

HOW I ACT AND BEHAVE

I am very outgoing and blunt but know how to control that when I am in certain situations or around certain people. I find that I am more controlled around elders or people at my job. However, when I am home or with close friends I have no filter. I love talking to people and I am the type of person you can throw into a room filled with strangers and I will leave with multiple friends. I tend to overwhelm myself but that's what gets me through the day. I challenge myself and put a lot on my plate everyday but when I finish a task, I feel very accomplished. I rarely have time to sit around or relax because I am always finding something to do or to work on.

I currently am an Internet Sales Manager at Fred Beans Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick GMC. Working in the car industry may not sound like the most ideal job and it is definitely not the job I ever envisioned myself having. But, I have worked there for 4 years and am very content. I started as an Internet Sales Representative and eventually was promoted to the management position. It is a fast paced environment, the stress level is high and there are a lot of people that I have to answer to. But I love my job. I love going to work everyday. As much as I love my job....it is not what I want for the rest of my life. It is an amazing job for getting through school but my true passion is working with children. I am getting my degree in Early Childhood Education and will become certified in Special Education.

Family is very important to me. I am the oldest of 4 siblings. I have a brother Michael who is 20, my sister Carley is 15, and my other sister Ivy is 11. I haven't lived at home in 4 years but still see my parents and siblings at least once per week. I also see my grand parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on a monthly basis. Some of my family members are my best friends and I can't imagine moving away or being without them. Another side to my family is my boyfriend. We have lived together for 4 years. We have a puppy and a cat and have created a very happy life together. I work full time and go to school part time so my free time with him is very limited. He is beyond supportive of all of the work that I am putting in and I could not be more thankful for him and my family.

I value my family, my boyfriend, love, and good health. There is a lot to be thankful and grateful for but these 4 things are on the top of that list for me. I would truly be lost without my parents or boyfriend. They have been there through every struggle and have never once doubted me. I tend to be a dependent person and if I did not have them in my life or around as often as they are, I don't think I would be in the place that I am today in life. I value good health because it is something that a lot of people take for granted. I have had multiple family members that were very close to me pass away from cancer. Watching someone you love slipping away in front of your eyes puts life into perspective. My pop pop passed away 3 weeks after he was diagnosed with cancer. Those 3 weeks were the longest and roughest weeks for my family and I. After he passed, I realized that life can be taken away at any moment and we need to live it to the best of our abilities. Health, family, happiness and love should never be taken for granted.

Sports have been a part of me since the day I was born. I was a cheerleader from the age of 6 all the way through high school. My family is the biggest Phillies fans and a lot of my childhood memories are being at the baseball games with them. My boyfriend also grew up in a very sport-loving household and he had me get even more involved. Baseball was the number one sport in my household, but my boyfriend now has me hooked watching every Sixers and Eagles game. Going to these sporting events is a part of my life and is something that everyone in my life enjoys.
