How a movement is performed originally due to what your brain feels comfortable with or what techniques used before. Henley is associative in racket sports like tennis and even now padel so his forehand shot technique is much more fluent and controlled and he can consistently hit good shots due to the technique hes learned however his smash is still not great as his brain is not quite got the technique down and he can often hit the glass or to the wrong area. Fernandos smash will be near perfect and his brain and body will be completely in sync when performing it meaning a better outcome

Gross motor skills are large movements that can use large muscles or sometimes even the whole body. Patties gross motor skills may still not be great due to her inexperience so when it comes to things like reaching for a ball off the glass her body will not have the ability to get the ball over due to her technique. Because she is a novice her fine skills that use much less muscles will be better due to her not needing to think about it to much. Often when she needs to smash the ball up high she can fail and hit the ball with to much power due to her whole body not being in tune due to inexperience.

To be perceptual is to have the ability to interpret your own, your teammates and your opponents moves due to tells and senses. This is a good skill to have as you can often prepare for the upcoming shot or even sync up with your teammate better and get better chemistry. Henleys perceptual ability is still quite low due to inexperience he cant really tell where the next ball will be hit or where his teammate will be which can lead to points being loss. A player like Alejandro will have a much better chance as they have the ability to interpret there oppositions and there teammates moves giving them a better chance at winning points

Fluency is the ability to move very smoothly when hitting shots and also when moving around the court. This is important as it can make moves use less energy also getting to the ball will take much less energy. Henley can sometimes demonstrate this skill when hitting a fairly easy shot back to the opposition and for most basic skills in padel he shows fluency. However comparing henleys movement around the court to Fernando. Fernandos basic position and movement is way more fluent and when it comes to being in the right place to hit the ball meaning he uses much less energy.

Control is having control over where the ball is going and with what kind of power and technique. Having control can lead to putting the ball in the correct places and making it much more awkward for the opposition to return the ball. This can lead to more points for your team if used correctly. Pattie is still a novice to not only padel but also racket sports so her control is not very good when hitting the ball which means she can either make mistakes or give the opposition a much easier ball to return. In comparison to Alejandro Galan his control is a elite level so each ball he hits will cause the opponents to have to return a much higher difficulty of shot

This is the ability to move around the court and hit the ball whilst using the least amount of energy this can help you play a good game for a long period of time without being tired out. Henleys general athletic ability allows him to move around the court for a long time however he still doesnt have a great efficiency of movement meaning that towards the end of the game his skills could be getting worse leading to him losing points. Compared to Alejandro who will have a good one so he can move at a high speed for all of the game meaning each point can be played for.

This is where certain actions or skills are leading to the same results most of the time. This can mean that certain shots are consistently going to the same area to decrease the chance of an opponent returning it. Pattie still has a very low level of consistency and she may find it difficult to hit it towards the same area and some of her better shots she may find diffcult to duplicate. Fernando will have a very good level of consistency and nearly all of his shots will have a good outcome or at least a consistent one which can lead to the opponents making mistakes.

This refers to the amount of energy needed to perform a task. If done correctly you can perform high level or powerful shots without using up to much energy by getting the correct technique. In Henleys smash his energy expenditure is very high due to it being a difficult shot that generates a lot of power however if performed correctly he may be able to use up less energy. For other shots like his forehand he uses up much less energy as it is much more natural for him to perform.

A skilled performance will have a great awareness of the entire court and even sometimes know how each point will play out and reading moves before they are done by being perceptual. This can counter opponents moves and give you the ability to be able to quickly strike back and win points. By having good psychomotor abilities your body and brain will move in sync meaning most shots can go to the areas you want and also with the correct power which can increase your chance of winning the point which also leads into gross motor skills which by having good psychomotor ability you can correctly use your whole body adn get the ball where it is needed to go through these abilities

By having these abilities you can create situational shots which you can then turn into a skill for example by being perceptual you may know the a shot is going behind you but due to the position your in you cant reach it instead of spinning to reach it you may do a behind the back shot that works out well and by using these abilities you can put yourself in situations where you learn new skills or improve on already existing skills. Things like good psychomotor skills means you expend less energy per hit leading to you being able to play for a longer period of time.

Type of skill is literally the skill that you are using based on the situation you are in. So depending on the skill needed in the situation can mean the difference between success and failure. for example Henley will have a much better chance of returning the ball if its a lob compared to a backhand due to what kind of skills he is accustommed to but for Fernando most of his skills are mastered and he can use each at a elite level without risk of failure so if a shot is put on his backhand he doesnt have a higher chance of losing but for Henley if a lot of shots are put on his backhand it may increase his chances of losing

Environemental effect is the type of place they are in and how it may effect performance. Things like wind will effect a performer like Pattie much more due to her low ability already but with external factors she will have even less of a chance at hitting the ball as it may change the trajectory of the ball. However for someone like Alejandro who is a very high level player a change in trajectory of the ball or loud noises on a road will effect him much less as he has to focus much less on his technique due to his fluency.

This is how difficult a skill or movement is in general or for individual performers. For Henley his fluency is a much harder skill for him to learn than his energy expenditure this is because fleuncy depends on technique and for him technique is much more diffcult to learn than running and being in the correct places is however for other people it could be the opposite.

Henleys speed is average meaning that most balls he can get to if he is in the right positions however if he is in the in correct place his ability to get to the ball wont be good which can lead to the opposition earning a point. This can be bad as it means that for any far reaching ball or one with a lot of movement involved he may be unable to return it. If he had a lot of speed he would be able to play much harder shots and get accross the court much easier

Patties jump height is not great and also her finishing foot placement is not great meaning that if a shot is played over her and she can jump high enough to reach it she may lose a point or if it stays in she may not land correctly to be able to return the ball. If she were a good jumper she would have a much better smash with a better chance at hitting it downwards towards the opponents side also she would be able to reach balls going over her and stop the opposition winning a point.

Henleys balance is average and can sometimes cause him to have improper technique or even hit the ball to the wrong areas this is bad as it means that he may be unable to win points due to his finishing position. If his balance was good he would eb able to turn and land in the correct body position and be able to return balls with the technique needed
