Bullying is a major issue in our nation and must be included in the topic of suicide. Bullying victims, as well as those who bully others are at a significantly higher risk for suicide (Hinduja, 2018). With the prevalence and rise of social media, bullying has become so much easier for our youth. Social media is also linked to higher levels of depression and anxiety, disturbed sleep, and other mental health problems (The Mayo Clinic, 2019).   • Promote an anti-bullying, positive school climate.
  • Teach digital citizenship to students to promote safe, respectful, and responsible use of technology.
  • Address and stop bullying behavior immediately. 
  • Regularly provide social and emotional learning opportunities for students. 
  • Ensure all staff attends suicide prevention training/professional development.
