Children spend most of their time in school, which puts educators in a vital position to notice concerning behaviors, intervene, and prevent potential harm in students. There are several legal and ethical responsibilities that educators must be aware of to prevent youth suicide and to avoid possible litigations.

Bullying is a major issue in our nation and must be included in the topic of suicide. Bullying victims, as well as those who bully others are at a significantly higher risk for suicide (Hinduja, 2018). With the prevalence and rise of social media, bullying has become so much easier for our youth.
