They fostered unity by making every american feel like everyone can help during the war. They did this by making advertisements that influenced Americans to do something. Dr Seuss made an ad that says " What have you done today to help save your country from them?" With a picture with Germans. They also engaged Americans by making them feel useful. One ad has women that says "Soldiers without guns". Which made women feel apart of everything along with men.

The government gained unity and American contribution through using propaganda and speeches to make Americans feel as if they were really able to help such a big cause. This includes ways to get money and emotional support from Americans. Source F shows how they used propaganda to get money from Americans by telling them its the only way to defeat the axis and the inflation. Source E shows a Nazi burning American documents and the phrase that says "We Can Prevent This" Which encourages Americans to want to take action and really try to help towards the war.

The government fostered unity throughout the war effort by trying to promote citizens to enjoy the side effects of the war, such as rationing and censorship. In source B, a newspaper is promoting censorship when talking about the war, as though it is a good thing. In source G where it presents "Plant A Victory Garden" and "Our Food Is Fighting", it shows that people should plant food as their way of fighting for the war if they dont participate in the army or such. Source H shows that although rationing was not truly well favored, the representation of it was of it being a "fair share for all" where everyone is happy with the food they get as it is equal when using ration cards. America's propoganda insisted on showing the good side and trying to convince the citizens of the benefits of these restrictions and actions.
