The 'Why'

I built the library in Padlet using a column layout so paraprofessionals and teachers can quickly access the resources they need. The board centers on small group work in general education classrooms, resource rooms, and inclusive settings, and it mixes animations, simulations, practice tools, ebooks, trusted sites, open courses, and short videos. Digital curation cuts search time and helps teams make quicker, better choices when planning or troubleshooting a lesson (Sharma & Deschaine, 2022). Padlet works well as a simple space for posting, replying, and sharing updates, so it doubles as a light collaboration hub when teams want to trade what worked (Chan, 2022).

The categories line up with real tasks. Simulations and short games give students a place to try an idea and fail safely. Which keeps attention better than a packet during pull outs (Jones et al., 2023; Sánchez-López et al., 2023). Practice tools with immediate feedback are there for quick checks and confidence building during transitions or end-of-lesson stations (Rueda-Gómez et al., n.d.). Ebooks and multilingual texts support access for English learners and allow families to read at home in the language that feels natural, which I have seen lower frustration during homework weeks (Donohue & Aladé, 2022). I also saved a column for open courses and short PD pieces so staff can pick up skills without waiting for a formal workshop (Villalobos López, n.d.).

The mix reflects where schools have been headed. One to one programs expanded quickly and raised expectations for digital quality during and after COVID, so having a vetted set of materials matters more now than it did a few years ago (Klein, 2020; Vu et al., n.d.). Curation tools that invite people to pin, react, and discuss tend to foster a sense of community and shared judgment about what “good” looks like, which is why I borrowed ideas from studies that used social platforms in coursework (Huntington, 2022).
