My name is Yejin. I’m from Haesung International Convention High School.

I’m going to introduce Korean food.

Jajangmyeon is a dish that was influenced by Chinese cuisine and changed into a Korean style. It is also very popular in Korea and is sometimes called a national food. Jajangmyeon is made with chunjang (black bean sauce), noodles, vegetables, and meat. There is a tradition of eating it on Children’s Day or after graduation. People also eat it on moving day to celebrate a new start, and there is a belief that the black sauce brings wealth. In addition, on April 14th, there is Black Day, when people who did not have a partner on Valentine’s Day or White Day gather to eat it. The meaning of “black” is for people who did not receive gifts, and it also symbolizes the loneliness or sadness of being single.

So, jajangmyeon is not only delicious but also a special food with many traditions in Korea. This is the end of my presentation. Thank you for listening.

Hello everyone, My name is Dayeon Park in Haesung international convention high school.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to a very popular Korean dish called Samgyeopsal, which means grilled pork belly in Korean.

Samgyeopsal is made with thick slices of pork belly, usually grilled at the table. It’s not marinated beforehand, so you can really taste the natural flavor of the meat. We usually grill it with garlic, onions, and mushrooms, and once it’s cooked, we cut it into small pieces using scissors.

The best way to enjoy Samgyeopsal is to make a wrap. We take a lettuce leaf, add a piece of pork, some grilled garlic, kimchi, and a bit of ssamjang, which is a spicy dipping sauce. Then we fold it and eat it in one bite. It’s really delicious!

So, how does it taste? Samgyeopsal is juicy, savory, and rich because of the pork fat. But when you eat it with vegetables and sauce, it feels very balanced and refreshing.

This dish is very popular in Korea, not only because it’s tasty, but also because it’s fun and social. Friends and families gather around the grill, cook together, and enjoy the meal. It’s especially popular on weekends or after work.

If you ever visit Korea, I really recommend trying Samgyeopsal. It’s more than just food — it’s an experience!

Thank you for listening!

Hello my name is se a

And I've been here in Haeseong International Convention High School

Today, I’d like to introduce you to a traditional Korean board game called Yut Nori.

Yut Nori is a popular game in Korea, especially played during Seollal, and 추석 It’s a family-friendly game that brings people together and creates a fun and festive atmosphere.

So, what exactly is Yut Nori?

The game is played with four wooden sticks called “yut,” and a game board with marks or spaces. Each stick is flat on one side and round on the other. When you throw the sticks, the number of flat sides facing up determines how far your piece can move. Each combination has a name — Do, Gae, Geol, Yut, and Mo — which represent 1 to 5 steps.

Players or teams take turns throwing the sticks and moving their tokens around the board. The goal is to move all your pieces around the board and back to the starting point before the other team.

One of the fun parts of Yut Nori is that you can catch your opponent’s pieces by landing on the same space, which sends their piece back to the beginning. You can also get extra turns if you throw “Yut” or “Mo.”

Although the rules are simple, there’s a lot of strategy involved, like choosing whether to move one piece far or spread out your chances with multiple pieces.

If you ever have a chance to visit Korea during Seollal, I highly recommend trying Yut Nori. It’s fun, exciting, and a great way to experience Korean culture firsthand.

Thank you for listening!!

Red means happiness. Blue means hope.

Patterns like peony flowers represent wealth, and cranes represent long life.

Today, Hanbok is worn on special occasions, such as Seollal (Lunar New Year), Chuseok (Harvest Festival), weddings, or a baby’s first birthday, called doljanchi.

It makes these events more meaningful and beautiful.

Hanbok is still important today.

Designers create modern Hanbok, and we can see it in K-dramas and K-pop videos.

It helps people around the world appreciate Korean culture.

Personally, wearing Hanbok makes me proud.

It feels different from casual clothes, and I feel connected to my ancestors and history.

In conclusion, Hanbok is more than clothing.

It is a symbol of Korean history, culture, and identity.

I hope more people can try wearing Hanbok one day. Thank you very much for listening.

This was my presentation about Hanbok.

Go is a traditional East Asian board game in which two players take turns placing black and white stones on a 19×19 grid, aiming to control more territory than the opponent. Known for its deep strategy and nearly infinite number of possible moves, Go is regarded as a profound and complex game. It is widely enjoyed in East Asia, especially in Korea, China, and Japan, where international tournaments are held.

The rules are simple: the player who controls more territory on the board wins. Black and white players take turns placing stones on the intersections of the board. If a group of stones is completely surrounded and all its liberties (the empty points adjacent to the stones) are taken away, those stones are captured and removed from the board.

While there is no specific day dedicated to Go, it is often featured in television programs or played among family members during holidays such as Chuseok and other traditional celebrations.

Hello, my name is Hyerim, and I am a first year student at Haesung International Convention High School.

today I will talk about K-pop.

K-pop means Korean pop music. It started in South Korea, but now people all over the world enjoy it. K-pop is not only music, but also a culture. Fans enjoy music, fashion, dance, and performances, so K-pop has become very popular globally.

The history of K-pop started in the 1990s. Groups like H.O.T and Seo Taiji and Boys made big changes in the Korean

music industry. Later, BoA, TVXQ, BIGBANG, and Girls’ Generation became very famous. Since the late 2000s, K-pop has spread to other countries.

Recently, groups like BTS, BLACKPINK, and NCT have gained huge global popularity, making K-pop a worldwide cultural phenomenon.

K-pop idols are singers and dancers. Before they debut, they train for many years. They practice singing, dancing, acting, and even foreign languages. This is a very hard process, but it helps them perform perfectly on stage. Some trainees practice 10 to 12 hours every day. Because of this hard training, idols can give amazing performances to their fans.

Most K-pop groups have many members. Each member has a role, like vocalist, rapper, or dancer. Because of this, fans can enjoy different charms of each member. Some groups are small, with only 4 or 5 members. For example, BLACKPINK is a girl group with 4 members. On the other hand, some groups are very big, with more than 10 members. For example, NCT is a boy group with over 20 members. BTS has 7 members, and EXO has 9 members, which is a medium-sized group. Every group is different, so fans can enjoy many types of performances.

K-pop is also famous for colorful

music videos, fashion, and performances. Music videos often have stories or unique concepts. Idols change their outfits and hairstyles to fit each concept, and they dance perfectly on stage. Fans often learn the dances or share videos online, which increases interest and love for K-pop.

Fan culture is very important in K-pop. Fans buy albums, stream music, and attend concerts or fan meetings. They support their favorite idols in many ways. Some fans even travel to Korea to watch concerts. This shows how big and strong the global K-pop community is.

K-pop also has many music styles. It includes pop, hip-hop, R&B, ballads, and dance music. Each group has a unique concept and music style, so fans can choose the group they like the most.

In conclusion, K-pop is not just music. It connects people from different countries and cultures. Fans can enjoy music, dance, fashion, and fan activities together.

That is why K-pop is special and loved all over the world.

Thank you for listening.

1. Typical school day

High school students usually start their day around 8 a.m. and finish classes by the afternoon. In many schools, students also stay for evening self-study until 9 or 10 p.m.

2. Learning styles

In high school, lessons are pretty organized but also fun. Teachers usually use a smart board to explain things, which makes it easier to understand. We take notes, join discussions, and sometimes do group work. The smart board is really helpful because teachers can show videos and pictures, which makes the lesson more interesting.

3. Motivations

Their main motivation is to enter a good university. Many students are driven by their future dreams, family expectations, and personal goals.

4. Hobbies/Free time

During break time at school, many Korean high school students like to watch videos of their favorite K-pop idols on their phones. They enjoy seeing music videos, performances, and behind-the-scenes clips. Some students also memorize popular dance challenges from these videos. They practice the dance moves and sometimes record videos of themselves dancing with their friends. It is a fun way for students to relax and share their interests during the short breaks at school.

5. Students jot down highlights

Students usually take notes of key points during class, highlight important parts in their textbooks, and summarize what they learned to prepare for exams.

Hello everyone,

My name is Kim Doyeon, and I’m a first-year student at Haeseong International Convention High School.

Today, I’d like to introduce a popular Korean fusion food called Carbo Buldak Ramen.

Carbo Buldak Ramen combines the spiciness of Buldak Ramen with the creamy taste of carbonara sauce. To make it, you need Buldak noodles, carbonara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and milk or cream. Boil the noodles, then mix the Buldak sauce with carbonara sauce in a pan. Add cheese on top and let it melt — you can also add parsley or an egg for decoration. Finally, mix everything and enjoy!

The flavor is special because the spicy Buldak sauce blends perfectly with the smooth, rich carbonara sauce. Even people who can’t eat very spicy food enjoy it thanks to the cheese and cream. It’s loved by both Koreans and foreigners, and became famous through social media and YouTube.

Overall, Carbo Buldak Ramen shows how Korean flavors can mix with Western styles to make something new and delicious.

Thank you for listening!

Gonggi is a traditional Korean game mostly played by children, using five small stones or plastic pieces called “gonggi.” Players throw one piece into the air and quickly pick up one or more pieces from the ground, catching the piece in the air before it falls. The game starts by picking up one piece at a time, then two, three, and finally all five pieces at once for a more challenging round. If a piece falls, the turn ends and the next player goes. The goal is to collect all five pieces in order without dropping them. Gonggi is a fun game that children can enjoy playing together.

Jegichagi is a traditional Korean game that is similar to a mix of soccer and hacky sack. In this game, players use their feet to kick a small object called a jegi into the air. The jegi is made from paper or cloth and usually has a small weight inside, like metal or coins, to help it fly.

The main goal of jegichagi is to keep the jegi in the air as many times as possible without letting it touch the ground. Players can use different parts of their feet, like the top, the side, or even the heel, to control the jegi. Sometimes, players try to do tricks or challenge their friends to see who can kick it the most times.

Jegichagi is often played outside during the Korean Lunar New Year holiday called Seollal, or in the winter when children have more free time. It is not only fun but also helps improve balance, coordination, and concentration.

This game has been popular in Korea for many years, and even today, some people still enjoy playing jegichagi with friends or family. It is a great way to experience traditional Korean culture while having fun.

On the other hand, “So Let’s Go See the Stars” tells the story of letting go of lingering feelings for a departed lover, accepting the breakup calmly, and embracing a “romantic ending.” Because of their beautiful melodies, these are two songs I would especially recommend.

The typical day runs long, with classes followed by mandatory "Hagwon" (cram school) sessions, often stretching until 10 PM in the pursuit of success on the crucial national college entrance exam, the "Suneung." Despite the academic rigor, students form strong bonds, staying in the same classroom all day and sharing late-night meals of affordable street food like Tteokbokki or group gaming at a "PC Bang" (PC Room) to relieve stress. This shared pressure and camaraderie create a tight-knit environment, which is finally exchanged for much-anticipated freedom and vibrant social life upon entering university.

The K-Pop Formula: Training, Sync, and Global Takeover

K-Pop is much more than just music; it’s a globally perfected cultural phenomenon built on intense training, synchronized choreography, and powerful storytelling through visuals and lyrics. Unlike typical music industries, the "Idol System" involves years of rigorous training—often starting as young teens—where trainees master singing, dancing, foreign languages, and stage presence. This system produces groups with famously intense synergy and jaw-dropping synchronization, which is key to their global appeal. Beyond the polished visuals, K-Pop’s strength lies in its diverse genres, unique concepts (like retro or futuristic), and frequent high-quality releases. To see the current global impact, check out the catchy synth-pop and powerful message of NewJeans’ "Super Shy" or the fierce, confident anthems like LE SSERAFIM’s "EASY," which perfectly showcase K-Pop's high production value and innovative style.

K-Fashion's Secret Weapon: The Blend of Old and New

While the Hanbok (traditional Korean dress) is famous, the most unique aspect of Korean clothing culture today is the dynamic way old traditional elements are powerfully blended with current trends. This manifests in two cool ways: the rise of "Modern Hanbok" and the fascination with "Core Fashion." Modern Hanbok takes the voluminous, flowing lines and gorgeous colors of the traditional dress but re-cuts it into practical pieces like daily jackets, dresses, or even sporty outfits, making heritage wearable for the street. Meanwhile, K-Fashion is currently obsessed with hyper-specific "Core" aesthetics, like "Balletcore" (blending feminine items with dance-inspired accessories) and "Gorpcore" (utility-focused outdoor gear), and even vintage/thrift market culture in places like Seoul’s Dongmyo. This constant, fast-paced creation of unique, personal styles—from historic flair to hyper-niche trends—showcases how Korean fashion prioritizes individuality within a very trendy collective.

Beyond the Board Game: K-Games with Cultural Spirit

Instead of simple playground games, let’s explore traditional Korean activities that showcase community and philosophy. The most impressive is Jultagi , or tightrope walking. This isn't just circus performance; it's a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage where the tightrope walker (Gwangdae) performs daring acrobatic feats while simultaneously telling jokes, singing, and interacting with the crowd below. It's a blend of high-risk skill and improvised theatrical comedy! For a more hands-on experience, try Tuho , a strategic yard game where players throw arrows into a narrow-necked jar from a distance. Once practiced by royalty and scholars, it embodies the traditional Confucian focus on discipline and accuracy—it's much harder than it looks! Both Jultagi and Tuho offer a unique peek into the historical Korean emphasis on balancing spectacular skill (art) with meticulous concentration (virtue).

Bulgogi is one of the most representative and traditional dishes of Korea.

The name “bulgogi” literally means “fire meat,” because in the past, it was cooked over an open flame. Today, however, people often prepare it at home using a frying pan or an electric grill, which makes it easier to enjoy.

Bulgogi is usually made with thinly sliced beef that is marinated in a sauce made from soy sauce, sugar, garlic, sesame oil, black pepper, and sometimes fruit juices such as pear or onion juice. These ingredients help make the meat tender and flavorful, giving it a perfect balance of sweet and savory tastes.

It is commonly enjoyed with steamed rice, and many people like to wrap the meat and rice together in fresh lettuce or perilla leaves, often adding a bit of ssamjang (a Korean spicy paste). This way of eating creates a more traditional and authentic Korean flavor.

Bulgogi is not only a delicious meal but also a dish that represents the warmth and hospitality of Korean culture. It is often served when families gather for special occasions, holidays, or when welcoming important guests. Because of its rich flavor and soft texture, bulgogi has become one of the most beloved Korean dishes among people all around the world.
