         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1549, Christian missionaries arrived in Japan, and the Japanese welcomed them as part of the European goods. Tokugawa ieyasu was troubled by the Christians who were seeking converts; at first Tokugawa did not take action. Ieyasu died in 1616, and in 1637 Christianity became a huge issue and it ended up being driven out of Japan, and all Japanese were forced to be some kind of branch of Buddhism.</div>]]></description>
