Quiet, alone, peaceful, and warm

It felt like a room a thought

I am from the dried flowers that hang from my wall

The roses and daisies

Yellow and crisp, with blush red hues

I’m from cinnamon rolls on christmas morning

And bright blue eyes and fair skin

From Lori and Eric and many “Lyns” 

I’m from the loud screaming

And running like wild dogs

From being kind to others

And to always be polite

I’m from the thought that everyone is equal

That everyone deserves to be happy in who they are

I’m from Springfield

Yogurt and apple juice

From the veteran stories of older relatives

The countless theatrical productions of uncles and cousins

I am from  perseverance and self acceptance for who I truly am inside.
