I would change it to "I LOVE RUNNING" the chapter starts with Jess running in the field. Jess is training for the race at school, so he will be the fastest runner in the fifth grade. He hopes that if he wins he will feel the admiration of his family and friends.

CHAPTER 2

I would change chapter 2 to "JESSE'S NEW COMPETITION" because in this chapter Leslie becomes Jesse's competition of being the fastest runner in the fifth grade. Leslie ends up getting ahead of Jesse in the race. Jess had trained so hard for the race, but then a girl won instead of him.

CHAPTER 3

AFTER: A NEW KIND OF RACING
I would rename chapter 3 "A NEW KIND OF RACING" because this is the first time where a girl is going to be racing with the boys. For the first time, a girl won the race, now racing isn't as big as it once was. Since racing isn't as popular as it was, it is "A NEW KIND OF RACING".

CHAPTER 4

AFTER: A NEW KINGDOM
I would change chapter 4 "A NEW KINGDOM" because this chapter is more about Terabithia and its imagination and not the rulers. Terabithia is "A NEW KINGDOM" of imagination for Jess and Leslie. All the magic happens in Terabithia and that is what makes it unlike others.

CHAPTER 13

I would rename Chapter 13 "A NEW ERA" because it is the final chapter and I think it should be named after the most memorable or last moment of the book. MayBelle being crowned queen will keep the magic and imagination alive. The fact that Terabithia is being passed down to May Belle means that it is "A NEW ERA".

CHAPTER 5

I would keep chapter 5 the same because I think it explains the entire chapter. Janice Avery is the giant, because she stole MayBelle's twinkies. Jess and Leslie are the Giant Killers as they get revenge on Janice Avery.

I would rename chapter 6 "IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS" because during christmas time Jess isn't feeling the tension of his family. It feels festive to him like christmas would be for almost everyone. Prince Terrien is also not the only present that is gotten during christmas time.

I would modify chapter 7 "LESLIES NEW BEST FRIEND" because Leslie is spending more time with his father than she is with Jesse. She is helping her father with renovating the house. She even tells Jess that she is learning to understand her father.

CHAPTER 8

I would rename chapter 8 "WHATS THE BIBLE?" because Jess invites Leslie to church, as she wonders all about it. Since this is her first time at church she may not know everything that would happen there. Leslie thinks the bible is a very interesting story, while everyone else at Lark Creek takes the literal meaning of it.

CHAPTER 11

I would rename chapter 11 "WHAT IS HAPPENING?" because Jess is feeling lonely now that his best friend has died and left him all alone. Jess is going through the five stages of grief and is in denial. He is still processing what has happened.

I would rename chapter 9 "INVADING THE KINGDOM" because Leslie thinks that it isn't ordinary rain. Leslie is imagining that the rain is acting like evil spirits. It is almost like the rain is invading the kingdom of Terabithia.

CHAPTER 10

I would alter chapter 10 to "THE BAD NEWS" because at the end of the chapter Jess finds out that his best friend, Leslie, is dead. This turned out to be the perfect day he though it was, until he heard the news of Leslie. He didn't even get to meet her for one last moment, before he went with Miss Edmunds to Washington.

I would rename chapter 12 "WHY" because Jess is wondering why Leslie's body is being cremated. He is uncomfortable of Leslie being cremated, and his discomfort leads him to be angry. He will never see Leslie again, and wonders "WHY?".
