1. Kahoot

My first choice of a resource that I would use in the classroom would be Kahoot. Kahoot is an interactive game-based learning platform that can help teachers come up with fun quizzes, surveys, and discussion boards. What stands out about most of these platforms is that students are able to participate in real-time and see what their status is. How I would use it would be for formative assessments to help students understand the material clearer after a lesson. Kahoot provides instant feedback and can help teachers guide their students better. Another cool way to use Kahoot is for students to use it as a review tool before exams or quizzes. It can also be seen as a platform that encourages teamwork, having students work together.

2. Google Classroom

The second source would be Google Classroom. I think that this is a multipurpose resource that can facilitate education for both the educator and the student. For teachers, they can mainly use it to create, hand out, and grade assignments electronically. Using Google Classroom in high school, I thought it was also a great integrative tool for other platforms like Google Docs, Slides, Forms, and Drive. Overall, all class materials (assignments, announcements, resources) are stored in one place, leading to better organization. It also allows for students to submit things through their device and keeps track of their progress. Additionally, students can easily work together through shared google docs, and much more.

Thirdly, I would use Canva to benefit both teachers and students. I would say that teachers can use it to create games, and visually interactive work or activities. Students can use canva to be very creative with their work and express themselves through art. Overall, it can help both students and teachers with presentations, assignments, and worksheets. I would also say that students can easily work together to create and share designs in real time, aiming to enhance creativity and teamwork.

4. Slido

My fourth one is a personal favorite, Slido. Slido allows for both students and teachers to engage in interactive polling and Q&A questions that allows students to ask anonymous questions, participate in live polls, and engage with quizzes. It’s mainly designed to help students participate, especially for students who don’t feel comfortable speaking up. Another interesting way to use Slido is for exit tickets. This can be used at the end of a lesson to check what students have learned and where they need more support. Additionally, it can be used for class discussions.
