Qn 1: Rounding is shifting a number (for example 76) to the nearest ten (80). (Actually you must use a symbol for rounding off, but I can't find it on the keyboard )
Qn 2: Estimation is figuring out a sum with no working, so it also uses the rounding concept. You may be given a sum like 77+22. You have to first round off both numbers ( They will be 80 and 20), then, add up the rounded off numbers (80+20). The answer will be 100.
Qn 3: I think we are learning these topics as it can make sums easier.

Hi, here's what I know about rounding and estimation:
Q1 : Rounding is shifting a number to the nearest ten, hundreds or thousands. If your numbers in the ones place are five or above, round it UP to the nearest ten ( for example you round 38 to 40 ). If the number in the ones place is below five, round it DOWN ( for example 94 you round to 90 ) Rounding makes doing math more easy but is less accurate.
Example:
49 + 73 =
You round 49 to 50, then 73 to 70. Then the answer will be 120

Q2: Estimation is a rough calculation of a number, value or quantity.
Something like guessing, but you still don't completely rely on guessing. You will still have some thing to refer to and calculate on. More like predicting. And you should not use any working for estimation. Just mental calculation. But you usually don't do calculation. It's looking and then your mind process around how much ( or how many ) is there. And you also estimate volume, weight, length and area.... You estimate all kinds of things. Last time I went to a Lantern Festival party, they ask you to GUESS how many moon cakes are there. I counted how many rows and how much on each row, but the moon cakes on each row is not the same. So I tried to times but... it did not work. THAT is estimation.
Example:
Estimate how long is the classroom.
You do guess alright, but you know the classroom is longer then 1 m, so it cannot be cm. And you think that the classroom is longer than 2 m, so then you guess how long is the classroom but the answer needs to be after 2 m.

Q3: I think that we are learning rounding and estimating because it makes it quicker and easier to do math questions even though they are less accurate. But they are handy for roughly calculating numbers (like calculating how many people came to a theme park today). Plus, they might help us in our daily work and in the future.
                                                          Thanks! :)

Q1: Rounding is to move a number to its nearest ten, hundred , thousand, ten thousand... Example: If the number the question gave you is 26, to round it, you must move it to the nearest ten, which is 30.The answer is not 20 because you need 6 to get 26, whereas for 30, you only need 4. Q2: Estimation is to guess a number that is close to the actual answer but not the exact answer. Estimations could be accurate or inaccurate. It depends if yours is a lucky guess or not, but if your estimation is inaccurate, it's okay. Most of the time, people's estimations are inaccurate. How to estimate - Example: If there are a lot of cookies in a jar, you could estimate the number of cookies in the jar first, before really counting the actual number of cookies in that jar.
Q3: I think rounding and estimation will help everyone in their work, including me. As our level goes higher, the number gets greater and greater, so we can use rounding and estimation in our work, including this year. Once I learn rounding and estimation on Monday, I'll never forget how to round and estimate as I grow older.
